Kanye West Toasts Himself at VMAs With New Song, 'Runaway'

Dressed in red and feeling feisty,
Kanye West brushed off a smattering of boos in the audience and performed his non-answer to
Taylor Swift's song about him at the MTV VMAs on Sunday. He didn't exactly address last year's incident, when he infamously interrupted Swift's acceptance speech to proclaim her video wasn't as good as one by Beyonce. Instead, with the new song 'Runaway,' West targeted himself and his trademark jerk-ish behavior.
"I always find something wrong / You've been putting up with my s**t for too long," he sang, before launching into a chorus that included the lines: "Let's have a toast to the douchebags / Let's have a toast to the a**holes." WATCH:
West took the stage at the end of the night, after Swift performed her own song. That one, 'Still an Innocent,' was actually about West, though it was not an attack on him.
Swift's song is being described as an olive branch to her former nemesis. "Everyone of us has messed up, too ... I hope you remember today is never too late to be brand new."
The 20-year-old's song, which began with a video montage of last year's debacle, came off more like a lecture than a lashing.
"Thirty-two and still growing up now / Who you are is not what you did," she sang both seriously and softly, adding: "You're still an innocent."
Their equally emotional performances seemed to provide resolution to the incident, while overshadowing the show's other moments, including Lady Gaga's eight VMA wins.

But then @Dennis he is not a leopard....he's a human being! We need to be understanding of one thing and one thing only if you be without fault cast the first stone! I really do not understand why he did it and I could not like it anymore than you. But he is at least saying he was "Wrong" in so many ways. I do not trust Kanye West, but I can a least understand what could have been going on in is head. Just plain old "Vanity!"
Reply
Vanessa... The ONLY reason he's saying he was "wrong" is because his career got flushed down the toilet by his actions last year. Not only is he a loser, he has NO TALENT!
Mary...Kanye West is am immense talent in the music industry...you can't deny that.
Kanye was GREAT!!!!!! you guys are a bunch of whining babies. It's over now, yes he was wrong for what he did to Swift but West is a musical genius.

how can you even say that! hes just like every other rap "star", his "music" is just junk and cuss words. I cant even listen to that CRAP!!
The words musical and Kanye West should never appear on the same page.
Are you out of your ignorant mind?!!! Anyone who thinks that stupid moron, Kanye West is a genius, NEEDS to be put into a straight jacket! You are the most ignorant azzhole, douche bag that ever existed, along with Kanye, the low life creep!
Oh ya, Kanye is a Musical Genius. What a laugh. If it wasn't for twits like you he'd be cleaning toilets. I can cuss and use crap words, does that make me a superstar? Hardly! The only reason a joke like Kanye is still around is that no one has the courage to say that Rap is Crap!
MUSICAL GENIUS????????? He is a total waste of human skin.
EXACTLY! He is a genius. Writes great stuff. As someone told me once... "Don't throw the baby out with the bath water!"
ah LOSER!
Big time!
I find it truly pitiful that some singers are proud they can say nasty words in a song. It is even more pitiful that some song writers are so limited they can only think of nasty words to write a song with.

Yes its nothing like the music of the 60's 70's and even early 80's and I'm only 30 yrs old, but that said, I'm proud of both Kanye and Swift. Kanye had an epiphany and realized that his personality really sucks! and is not cute at all! All along people were really laughing at him and not with him. Swift put Kanye in his place so elegantly and really was the "bigger " person , by not adding fuel to the fire and making a bad situation worse.

I doubt whether this moron can spell "epiphany", much less have one.....
How many times can you use the "F" word in a song? If that's what you call it!

I guess it really got to be OK when Eminem did it. Anyway, even Malcolm X said people swear because they don't have the words to express themselves. I guess they need to go back to school or just admit they're actually no-talent bums.
A pitiful VMA presentation. Kayne needs to be allowed to fade away. He is a disgrace to humanity.
