We'll Do It Taped! MTV Didn't Want a Live Lindsay
Further proving Hollywood executives still have a long way to go before they trust
Lindsay Lohan again, sources tell me the only way producers would allow the rehabbed star to participate in this year's VMAs was if she agreed to tape her segment rather than perform live like most of the other skits.
"Lindsay knows she has a ways to go before she gains back the trust of everyone," a friend of the troubled actress tells me. "But she's just grateful to be getting these offers again."
I know it's hard to fathom, but there was actually a time when Lindsay was being offered presenting gig after presenting gig for A-list awards shows. Been a while, right?
"Now, she's just grateful to be asked back even if she has to tape her performance," my source reveals.
Lindsay's surprise appearance made fun of her recent struggles in a pre-taped segment with cheeky host Chelsea Handler. "Hello Chelsea," Lindsay said. "Have you been drinking?"
"No," Handler replied, before Lindsay asked, "Then why is your ankle bracelet going off."
Lindsay, who is actually back in New York celebrating her mom Dina's birthday on Wednesday, watched the show with her family. Sources tell me she thought it was funny and understands, givien her past behavior, why the producer insisted she tape it in advance.

UNINFORMED? What if she had killed someone while she was driving drunk? You'd be talking out of a different hole then wouldn't you?
People are angry at her because she shows no remorse for her bad and dangerous behavior. She only regrets that she can't have a movie career, a martini and her crack pipe too.
That Lindsay Lohan segment would've been funnier if
Chelsea or Lindsay threw a cup of coffee on their
dresses or shirt, but it was a very clever skit.

i almost couldnt believe it was her. like im hearing the little voice of a young ginger in parent trap, but im looking at a woman who looks to be 35 or so. it was weird and i wish i could have paused it and stared at her for a few min. i cant say i wasnt happy to see her on mtv again

She needs to get get out of Hollywood, get herself to some ordinary town in the midwest and a job at Micky Dees so she understands that she is just a shlub like everyone else. She needs to beat that lethal "celebrity" image of herself out of her head because that's the only way this lump of sad humanity will survive. Someone also needs to shoot all her enablers. Even if it's taped, this job is just another backdoor to the vapid lifestyle that obvious is killing her. LOOK AT HER -- death is written all over her face. Was this lame, unfunny skit worth it? It was the same as giving a watered down drink to a drunk -- it will still drive him to drink. Getting her back into the celb industry, taped or not, is adictive to her and and will put her back on that downward spiral. It's just enabling and feeding her addiction to believing she is better than the rest of humanity and should be treated special. It will kill her.

IF SHE WERE EMPLOYEED IN ANY BUSINESS OTHER THAN "SHOW BUSINESS" SHE WOULD BE FIRED. WHY IS MTV EVEN EXTENDING HER THE PRIVILAGE OF BEING ON THE SHOW TAPED OR OTHER WISE. SHE HAS DISGRACED THE INDUSTRY AND OTHER HARD WORKIND ACTORS, SHE HAS DISRESPECTED OUR COURTS AND THE LAW, AND SHE ALMOST KILLED A BABY 2 WEEKS AGO.
SHE IS A HAS BEEN THAT REALLY DOESNT DESERVE ANY MORE CHANCES. BUT I GUESS THE PUBLIC LOVES TO WATCH A TRAIN WRECK. SAD.

I think we're looking at the next Anna Nicole. Unlike Michael ,Elvis or Marilyn, if she dies nobody will remember her work. All they will remember is some pathetic drunk and druggie that ruined her fledgling career--that is if she is remembered at all.
She and her mother need to clip the money belt and go their own ways,. they are both old hags with nothing to offer. They surely do not light up any party and her acting ability is gone....smothered with ripple and boones farm...
