We'll Do It Taped! MTV Didn't Want a Live Lindsay

Further proving Hollywood executives still have a long way to go before they trust Lindsay Lohan again, sources tell me the only way producers would allow the rehabbed star to participate in this year's VMAs was if she agreed to tape her segment rather than perform live like most of the other skits.

"Lindsay knows she has a ways to go before she gains back the trust of everyone," a friend of the troubled actress tells me. "But she's just grateful to be getting these offers again."

I know it's hard to fathom, but there was actually a time when Lindsay was being offered presenting gig after presenting gig for A-list awards shows. Been a while, right?

"Now, she's just grateful to be asked back even if she has to tape her performance," my source reveals.

Lindsay's surprise appearance made fun of her recent struggles in a pre-taped segment with cheeky host Chelsea Handler. "Hello Chelsea," Lindsay said. "Have you been drinking?"

"No," Handler replied, before Lindsay asked, "Then why is your ankle bracelet going off."

Lindsay, who is actually back in New York celebrating her mom Dina's birthday on Wednesday, watched the show with her family. Sources tell me she thought it was funny and understands, givien her past behavior, why the producer insisted she tape it in advance. WATCH:

So "she has a ways to go before she gains the trust of everyone"-boy is that the understatement of the day. Uhh-try never. She'll never gain the trust-why?? because she is untrustworthy. I'm surprised she has any hair as many times as its been colored. Her skin looks orange. She blames everybody for her troubles-can't she just go away-and take both of her worthless parents with her.

to be honest, i'm surprised they want ANY live non-synced acts. get real, without the "help" of the singers on tape, there aren't too many that can go live! those little bluetooths in the ears are NOT for music, they're to feed the lines and help with keeping the notes straight.

Lindsay was actually funnier than Chelsia `` all frigging night. They should have let CHER``` host the show!!! LOVE GaGa, but a tad over rated last night. Taylor and Kanye both `` sucked!!! Emenim and Mary J. & Drake were ``` BY far ``` the best ``` all night!! YO!!

If Lindsay took the time out to get away and focus on herself, instead of being in the limelight all the time, She would be a lot better than what she is now! Partying and being around the things that drove you down hill to begin with will only bring you down further. Hopefully she will realize that before its too late.

Regardless of how well everybody thinks she is doing... attending meetings, going to AA, seeing her Probation Officer and all that is required of her until November 1st, she has to do all that or she will be back in jail. I guarantee she will be back out partying and back to her old life so fast your head will spin. She is a spoiled brat with a huge sense of entitlement, who thinks she can get away with anything, and she will end up doing the same stuff, except she will either kill someone, or herself, I hope she can turn her life around, but I doubt it!!!!

I think the taped show sucked. You can clearly tell that Chelsea didn't have the ankle bracelet on until Lindsey confronted her and Lindsey hair kept changing throughout the tape.

Let me see now...hum....They don't want Lindsey back, but Kanye West got the full star threatment after his last appearance where he took over the stage and ranted and raved! Makes a lot of sense to me!

Has Lindsey had cosmetic surgery on her face? Her face looks really odd. Very serpent like. Poor kid looks old and used up (thanks Dina!). If I were her, I take a good bath, get rid of all the tacky nail polish, get a good cut and color, buy all new clothes, take a 6 month rest, stay sober, stop partying, then re-tackle my career. It worked for Britney. Maybe Lindsey could get a Bally Fitness contract...she really needs to get in shape.
Oh and stop smoking. That could be the reason behind her worn out looks.

The show wasn't funny or entertaining. I went back to my "Law and Order SVU" marathon after 5 minutes of watching. LOL...no really!

Ignorant little bit**'s , Lindsay, Paris, etc.,etc. Don't know how good they have it. Besides that how much they r trashing the good name of their family. It's the "CORRUPT" judges and lawyers that allow them to continue their mischeavious ways. "MONEY TALKS and DINGBATS WALK. These "IGNORANT" and "CROOKED" officials need to be disbarred. These ignorant mindless kids and officials need to "DO THE TIME IF YOU GONNA DO THE CRIME" Yes the officials are doing a crime also by letting these immature so called adults, off easy.
