We'll Do It Taped! MTV Didn't Want a Live Lindsay

Further proving Hollywood executives still have a long way to go before they trust Lindsay Lohan again, sources tell me the only way producers would allow the rehabbed star to participate in this year's VMAs was if she agreed to tape her segment rather than perform live like most of the other skits.

"Lindsay knows she has a ways to go before she gains back the trust of everyone," a friend of the troubled actress tells me. "But she's just grateful to be getting these offers again."

I know it's hard to fathom, but there was actually a time when Lindsay was being offered presenting gig after presenting gig for A-list awards shows. Been a while, right?

"Now, she's just grateful to be asked back even if she has to tape her performance," my source reveals.

Lindsay's surprise appearance made fun of her recent struggles in a pre-taped segment with cheeky host Chelsea Handler. "Hello Chelsea," Lindsay said. "Have you been drinking?"

"No," Handler replied, before Lindsay asked, "Then why is your ankle bracelet going off."

Lindsay, who is actually back in New York celebrating her mom Dina's birthday on Wednesday, watched the show with her family. Sources tell me she thought it was funny and understands, givien her past behavior, why the producer insisted she tape it in advance. WATCH:

What other profession would allow anyone back to work after her ordeal than the movie business? This is nuts, who really wants to see this so called actress on anything but a wanted poster? Her behavior was criminal and if this were your average Jane she'd still be in jail. I'm sick of the preferential treatment these losers get from our courts. Maybe we should boycott all of these programs until they get the message to stop rewarding bad behavior with fat contracts.

Lindsay Lohan is a lousy actress who in my oppinon got so many offers when she was younger, was all because of her look's. I feel her career should be over. It's not jealousy, she just dosen't deserve it. There's so many other people out there, I'm sure who have more talent than her, and they just can't make it or don't have the right conncetion's. Like this spoiled brat. Like so many other celeberttie's, everything is more about look's than actual talent. That's just the society we live in. Just like so many people think reality T.V. is the next big thing. All the people that watch these kind of show's are just making other people rich that really don't deserve it. There just like regular people like us, have no talent, and they are just to lazy to work an actual job, so they make idiot's of themselve's on T.V. and people who watch it are suckers. In Lindsay Lohan's case I belive she should have served her full sentence just like everyone else. It's not fair that you can be famous, break the law, and get special treatment. I alway's remember my grandfather telling me, that back in his time if celebertie's did any wrong doing, depending on the situation, there careers would be over. Back then they lived in a society were people would look down on them. In today's world anything goes. Even Lindsay's mom has her own reality show. Does anyone care that mcuh what's going on in there live's. Apparently so.
