Taylor Swift a 'Wreck' Before Performing Kanye Song

On Sunday night, Taylor Swift once again found herself in the company of the man that made her cry. Not only was the young Taylor seeing Kanye West for the first time since the rapper's infamous ambush at last year's VMAs, she was also debuting a new song about him that she was terrified to perform.

"Taylor was a nervous wreck before she hit the stage last night," a friend of the singer tells me. "She knew Kanye was in the building and was terrified and praying that he wouldn't pull another stunt. Taylor rejected Kanye's offer to sing a song he wrote about the entire stage-storming innocent and had no idea how he would react to the song she wrote and performed about him."

Taylor's new song, 'Still an Innocent,' was indeed very emotional. "Lost your balance on the tight rope / It's never too late to get it back," she sang. "Thirty-two and still growing up now ... who you are is not what you say," Swift continued as everyone in the audience waited for West to react.

Thankfully, sources tell me extra security was dispatched to make sure no unauthorized person could access the stage again. However, Kayne did get to react to the classy Taylor at the end of the show when he performed a new song.

"Let's have a toast for the a**holes / Let's have a toast for the douchebag," West sang. "Let's have a toast for the scumbag ... everyone of them I know."

At the end of the day, we can take some comfort knowing that young Taylor did make the rapper sweat. Sources tell me that West was so worried about what Taylor might sing about him that he insisted he would only perform at this year's awards if he went on after Miss Swift.

I still don't understand why ANY Rapper is is considered a "talent" - anyone can stand on a stage and talk to music and hold their crotch....what's the deal?

Those who do it better than others are considered to be lyrical poets.

Rap is an art form, like Country, or Rock & Roll. Don't have to like it. Doesn't negate it is art, which requires creativity. Not as "simple" as you "think". Intelligent people know that.

Now....did Taylor and Beyonce know last year this West guy was going to do what he did. All publicity? Makes you wonder in todays extreme media world.

I do like West's collaboration with the Brit on American Boy. But how could anyone grab a mike and say 'you did not deserve this award' Think about it. An award. What is in an award anyway? Someone is ALWAYS going to think you did not deserve it. BUT TO GRAB THE MIKE!

I LIKED Taylor's song. It was tasteful, loving and she didn't sing off-key at all. She was by far the most mature and poised human being on that stage the entire awards ceremony, all twenty years of her. She's the youngest person ever honored by the Songwriters' Hall of Fame, so expect her to be around for the next fifty years, gang.

She is adorable and all..but christ on a cracker..is there anything she does not write a song about? Kanye an innocent?? Uh I don't think so. You're an idiot.. at least she came up with her own words.. she is 20 years old for crying outloud. Kanye is just a snobby rapper who thinks the world of himself. His song was just to make people feel bad for him.. and I sure as hell don't. Taylor def. took the high road on this one. Kanye is a pathetic cry baby who needs to change his diaper, buy a few more gold chains, and get the hell over himself.

Say what you want about her singing abilities, but Taylor Swift has infatuated me with her maturity and grace. I believe this young lady handled the situation very diplomatically and her inside beauty more than matches that of what we see on the outside (which is considerable!)

I don't know who the author spoke to but Taylor Swift wasn't in the least bit nervous about how Kanye "The Racist" West was going to react. Most source is certainly closer to Taylor than the author's. The filthy ghetto language used in West's song clearly demonstrates that he's still the same. He brings ever show he's on DOWN.

Hey Mr. Rob Shuter, Sounds like you Need to get over last year's incident and you sound like you have it in for them to stir up something. Taylor's song was Extreamly long (not saying she wasn't good)and it may have made some sort of reference to what happened last year But She didn't say one darn word or verse pertaining to him. Stop stirring up trouble for this young girl Mr. author and Kanye's performance was so-so as well and simply had Nothing to do with her.
