Who Was Trying to Undermine J. Lo's 'Idol' Deal?

Jennifer Lopez has officially signed on as the newest judge on 'American Idol,' and executives are convinced that negative stories are being deliberately planted about her in an effort to sabotage the diva before the show even begins. FOX insiders are insisting that the nasty leaks about Jennifer's diva behavior are all untrue and blaming shows in direct competition for all the bad buzz.

"This is a genius move by 'Idol's' public relations machine," an insider tells me. "They are taking all the attention of what a nightmare J.Lo is to work with and focusing attention on those other nasty shows. Now, everyone is guessing who is trying to ruin J.Lo rather than talking about the notoriously difficult diva."

So who is telling the truth? Is J.Lo a sweet girl-next-door who is easy to work with or is Jenny from the Block really as demanding as the rumors suggest?

"Of all the people I have ever worked with, no one was more difficult than Jennifer," a magazine editor tells me. "When we shot her for a cover, her list of demands were crazy. She needed an all white room scented with Jo Malone candles. She insisted on having a banquet of food -- that she never touched -- and even had the nerve to ask for a specific type of private plane."

Another source who has worked with Lopez tells me, "If Jennifer was known for her endless charity work before negotiating with 'Idol' and then suddenly diva like stories suddenly appeared, I would agree with FOX executives. However, everyone in show business knows Jennifer is more difficult to deal with than Barbra Streisand on a bad day. Pretending your competition is leaking negative stories about J.Lo is laughable. Next, they will be saying 'America's Got Talent' is leaking stories that Ryan Seacrest is short."

As someone who has worked for Jennifer myself, I can confirm that she is tricky, however, a gentleman would never kiss and tell. Wink.

Never could stand that egoistic diva. she thinks she is a Queen and demands all kinds of perks. I will never watch Idol again if that attention hungry no talent is on the program.

Is J.Lo really worth 12 Million? They balked at giving a raise to fan favorite ,Paula Abdul.She squeezed until her hands were black and blue to get 4 MILLION ,out of them without any luck!!!I think the pleasingly plump lady is about to sing,"American Idol"!!!

Wow, beautiful photo? How about wax figure because that's what the pic is. I don't know if you have ever been in Madame Tussaude's wax museum in New York, or any other celebrity wax museum, but clearly this photo is as fake as J Lo's personality, so I guess this photo is an imitation of life. LOL

I find it odd that this "official" news is not a bigger headline. Usually, major Idol happenings warrant Breaking News status, especially now, when everyone is waiting to hear who the new judges will be. This is just kind of, "Oh, by the way, Jennifer Lopez is the new Idol judge." Access Hollywood reported it in one sentence at the end of the show and then moved on to the next story. I suspect that all this J Lo/Steven Tyler jazz is just a way of covering the fact that there are still no potential new judges anywhere in sight. The producers had since January, when Simon announced his resignation, to find a replacement. They appear to be scrambling in the 11th hour. Steven Tyler is still actively touring with Aerosmith, and J Lo is an A List name who continues to make records and movies. It somehow does not wash that these two are going to put their careers on hold to be Idol judges.

She can't sing and her acting is nothing special. Thus, she really has no room to be a diva. The only thing that really got her in the spotlight was dating P-Diddy then Ben Affleck.
Oh well, let's hope her judging skills are better than her singing.

I think she will be interesting..Really, Ellen is funny but not a singer or good actress.

J. Lo...she is a dancer and hardworking..she may suck but you can't say she is lazy.

I think everyone forget Julia Roberts taking someone's husband and so many others so moral judgements in Hollywood are rather obsolete and dumb.

Hope X Factor, with Paula as one of the judges, airs at the same time and cleans the floor with them. Paula will get the last laugh. Love Steven Tyler. Lopez makes me gag. What kind of a person still wears fur in the 21st century? Oh I know, a heartless, souless wannabe.
