The case against Jodie Foster for allegedly assaulting a 17-year-old boy has officially been dropped, RadarOnline.com reports. The Los Angeles City Attorney's Office has "declined to prosecute" the actress due to lack of evidence.

The teenage boy accused Foster of battery after an incident in the parking lot of a Los Angeles-area shopping mall earlier this year. At the time, the actress's rep said the accusations were a "fabrication."

After three months of unsuccessfully trying to get a statement from Foster, the Los Angeles Police Department handed the case over to the District Attorney's office, who dropped it due to lack of evidence.

The alleged incident occurred on May 29 at the Grove shopping complex. According to the police report, the boy spotted Foster in the valet parking area and approached her to take a picture. A police report was filed after the incident, and officers did not report to the scene.
