Penelope Cruz and Javier Bardem Are Having a Baby

Penelope Cruz has confirmed she is pregnant with her first child, putting an end to rumors fueled this week by a photo showing off the star's growing belly.

The actress, who recently married 'Eat Pray Love' actor Javier Bardem, is four-and-a-half months pregnant, reps for the pair confirmed to PEOPLE.

Cruz and Bardem did their best to hide the news, but speculation of a pregnancy intensified when during a visit to Los Angeles, she was seen wearing a trench coat that hid her figure.

Then this week, a photo emerged from the set of the latest 'Pirates of the Caribbean' movie where she sports a pretty clear baby bump.

In July, a rep for the 36-year-old actress denied reports she was pregnant.

Cruz, who is currently filming 'Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides,' the fourth installment in the blockbuster franchise, wed Bardem in early July at a friend's home in the Bahamas in a private ceremony.

The couple, who starred as former lovers in Woody Allen's 2008 film 'Vicky Cristina Barcelona,' for which Cruz won the Best Supporting Actress Oscar, began their relationship in 2007 after 15 years of friendship.

slaminsam, you're just showing how ignorant you are. They aren't Mexican, they're Spanish - both born and raised in Spain. They have nothing more to do with Mexico than people who were born and raised in England have to do with the US.

Congrats to the two of them on what will undoubtedly be a beautiful addition to their family!

Neither Bardem nor Cruz is Mexican - they are Spanish. Mexicans only speak Spanish because they were conquered by Spain... the same goes for the indigenous Taino people of Puerto Rico, Cuba, Jamaica and Hispaniola. When they were invaded by Columbus who stole their land for Spain, they lost much of their native language and now the language for Puerto Rico & the Dominican Republic is Spanish - but THEY are not necessarily Spanish. Ladino is actually a word that is defined as, "a Spanish-speaking Indian".

And, MOST Americans, although we SPEAK English, are of some other ethnic origin. I am German and Norwegian, but I speak English.

You need to get out more and read more and quit shooting off your mouth.

Better to remain quiet and have people think you are a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.

She should first learn English that does not sound like it is being chopped up in the worst way. l can't stand her. She is not pretty, can't talk an understandable English and now is pregnant.
l can not remember any movie she was in...she is so forgettable.
Where is the real news?

She's Spanish... she shouldn't HAVE to learn to speak English to please you. But she does speak English as a second language, and the American film industry respects her enough to hire her over and over again - so THEY obviously think highly of her.

Actually she speaks English very well and her Spanish is beautiful. Since she was raise in Spain her dialect is a bit more formal than what we hear in the US. She is a beautiful, elegant woman and her husband is adorable. I wish them every blessing for their baby.

Why should she have to learn more English? Are you planning to learn Spanish for her? Do YOU speak more than one language fluently???? She's from Spain for goodness' sake!
