Pop-Ed: After taking in an early preview of David Fincher's 'The Social Network,' aka the Facebook movie, several scary thoughts come to mind, including: A) Mark Zuckerberg comes off like an Adderall-fueled sociopath, and B) Justin Timberlake might actually get an Oscar nomination out of this.
Without writing a full review or venturing into spoiler territory, here are some highlights everyone should be looking forward to come October 1.
The biggest surprise? Timberlake, who appears to have finally shaken the awkward pop star-making-movie-cameos phase of his career, seems poised to become a force to be reckoned with in Hollywood.
If JT already rubs you the wrong way, then watching him as Napster co-founder Sean Parker should be cathartic. If Jesse Eisenberg (Zuckerberg) is like Anakin Skywalker, a freakishly-talented kid swallowed by ego and obsession for power, then Timberlake is the Emperor, pushing Zuckerberg into full-blown madness. I'm not saying he's going to win the Best Supporting Actor Oscar, but this movie is certainly the biggest turning point in his acting career.
Then there's Eisenberg. He always plays socially awkward characters who look like they stayed up all night playing World of Warcraft (think 'The Squid and the Whale,' 'Adventureland,' 'Zombieland'), but for the first time, he uses his awkwardness in a sinister way to portray Zuckerberg. He's cold, ruthless and downright scary -- don't cross him unless you want to get the most scathing blog post written about you.
'The Social Network' is possibly one of the most important movies of the decade, as it not only unveils the stage and strings behind the biggest cultural phenomenon since the invention of the Internet, but also how one of the most era-defining companies started with backstabbing and betrayal. It's dark, tragic and unfolds like a classic Greek play jacked-up on a heavy dose of amphetamines and Red Bull.
FIRST!!! well i love it when people you would never think would get on oscar nomination get nominated...like jennifer hudson, ellen page (who basically was a nobody before juno) and it would be awsome if justin timeberlake gets one...it will be a surprise

I love that the Social Network has so far gotten rave reviews from everyone who has seen an early screening of it. I also love that everyone has also said that Justin Timberlake did a fantastic job in it. I hope the movie and Jesse, Justin, and Andrew all get Oscar nods. That should make the heads blow off of all the haters out there. lol
Really? One of the most important movies of the decade? I have no interest in seeing this. Important movies address important issues, which Facebook is not one of.
Your wrong Jake Facebook movie is important it put social networks on the map it's part of internet history. Movies are for entertainment not for important issues as you have claim which is a lie.
How is Facebook an "important issue"? It's a social networking site for narcissistic adults and teenagers. Just like MySpace it will eventually be forgotten in favor of the next, best thing. I'm sure Eisenberg and JT give fine performances but this movie looks BORING!
Seriously, I haven't stopped laughing since I saw this. Are there any women for JT to throw under the bus? Justin he can't do promo unless he can insult a woman from his past.

What a silly mommy! Katie Holmes takes Suri into the water in her clothes as the two spend the afternoon at the beach in Miami. More of Today's Hottest Photos

Seems like the "Talent" producers would ha done this kind of survey about JLo before sitting her down at the table!
