David Blaine and Model Fiancee Expecting First Child

Many of David Blaine's endurance tests involve staying awake for tortuous periods of time -- he's hung upside down, stood on a pole and encased himself in a block of ice -- but nothing has prepared him for the late nights and bleary-eyed mornings that will accompany his next feat: fatherhood.

The illusionist-street magician announced at a recent cancer benefit that he and his fiancee, French model Alizee Guinochet, are expecting their first child, the New York Post is reporting.

Blaine, 37, even joked that the "baby is probably already practicing the breath hold!"

Dear God, we hope not!

The couple have been engaged since April 4, 2009.

In the past, Blaine has been linked to a number of starlets, including Fiona Apple and Daryl Hannah.

You should be ashamed of yourself. David Blaine's unborn baby isn't a bastard. It's a gift from God, as all children are. He's not a so-called celebrity. He's a well-known street magician who's entertained audiences with his tricks for many years. I've loved them ever since I first saw him on TV as a child. Last but not least, married parents don't equal responsible parents. Unmarried parents don't equal irresponsible parents. I believe David will be a good father, regardless of marital status.
