Professional opinion giver Tim Gunn has been making the press rounds to promote his new book, 'Gunn's Golden Rules,' and he hasn't been shy about sharing his thoughts on a variety of stars. The latest celebs to find themselves in Gunn's crosshairs: Lindsay Lohan, Tom Cruise, Katie Homes and 'Real Housewife of D.C.' Michaele Salahi.
In an interview with Access Hollywood Live, Gunn didn't exactly have kind words for White House party crashers Michaele and Tareq Salahi -- who were waiting to be interviewed via satellite and heard the whole thing. "I don't mind if the Salahis hear this -- I believe that they are sociopaths," he said. "They believe their own lies. When you're dealing with a sociopath, you can't reason. You can't deal with logic. ... They do believe their own lies in my view."
Oh, and he also doesn't believe Michaele suffers from multiple sclerosis, as she recently revealed. "I would never wish MS upon anyone. And if in fact Michaele has MS, I feel very bad for her," Gunn said. "I have a very dear friend who has MS. I find it curious that the story is coming out now, though. I would want a doctor's note." Video after the jump.
Gunn went on to lament Lindsay Lohan's brief stint as creative director for fashion house Ungaro. "Mr. Ungaro is dead and God knows he must have been rolling over in his grave, but I thought, this is one of the last couture houses left in this entire world. Lindsay Lohan is the creative director? How absurd is that! It would be like asking, I don't know, like, asking Suri Cruise to pilot a fighter jet," he said.
With Suri on the brain, Gunn admonished Cruise and Holmes for the way they dress their daughter: "Suri is, she's her mother and father's dress up doll and I feel in many ways she's a fashion victim and it's just very inappropriate. I think it's unsafe too. She's a little kid and [she's] tottering around on these stilettos or quasi stilettos. It's really inappropriate and I feel bad for her in a manner of speaking."
Gunn's comments on Lohan, TomKat and the Salahis come on the heels of a drawn-out public spat with Vogue editor Anna Wintour and 'America's Next Top Model' judge Andre Leon Talley. In his book, Gunn alleges that he witnessed bodyguards carrying Wintour to her car.
We looked over the stairway railing. And what did we see but Anna being carried down the stairs. The bodyguards had made a fireman's lock and were racing her from landing to landing. She was sitting on their crossed arms ... I ran to the window to see if they would put her down on the sidewalk or carry her to the car like that. They carried her to the car. And I thought: I will never forget this.
He also reveals that he saw an assistant feeding Leon Talley by hand.
When we return to the green room, we see that someone has spread a translucent barber's bib over Andre and he's reclining, his arms at his sides. He's being fed grapes and cubes of cheese one by one, like a bird in a nest.
Gunn hasn't been shy about discussing his beef with Wintour either. During a chat with Jon Stewart on 'The Daily Show,' the 'Project Runway' mentor said, "Conde Nast (publisher of Vogue), 4 Times Square, would be well-served by having lots of straitjackets around," adding that Wintour and Leon Talley are "surrounded by great enablers" who encourage their diva-like behavior. He also compared working at Vogue to a zoo attraction: "When you live in the monkey house, you don't realize it stinks."
Who the hell is this GAY, snowrabbit who feels that he has the right to critique others. We all have opinions but that doesn't mean that we should publicly belittle anyone.
Finally, Finally someone has the guts to say what is exactly going on with all these so called celebreties. He hit the nail right on the head with EVERYONE. I love Mr.Tim Gunn. Too bad you actresses and actors, the truth is gonna hurt and Oh Yea those disgusting reality shows boobs.
Finally, someone we see on TV who we can look up to. I love Tim Gunn. I love Project Runway. I love what he says here in this article which is so true. Can't stand Lindsay Lohan. But BEST of all, was when Mr. Gunn told Gretchen on Project Runway who she really is - a manipulative bully. She's so full of herself and so backstabbing. Yuck.
Love Tim Gunn, but fear his honesty may cause severe repercussions to be brought down on his head by the powerful. Hope Heidi sticks by him. The other two "runway" judges may be too dependent on Anna and Andre's good graces to stand by Tim - we'll see!;-)
I totally agree with Tim Gunn. That fat black guy has no business telling anyone anything about fashion. Just look at him-- he would be the last person I'd ever ask for advice on anything appearance-related. And I believe Tim's story about Anna Wintour.
I believe Tim Gunn! For what reason would he have to lie about anything! He's has always portrayed himself to be a forth-right and honest man! There's no way I'd ever believe he would go around making things up!
I wish someone would pay a gazmillion dollars to Gunn to write an expose about the fashion industry. To show all the politicalness and backstabbing that goes on. In an industry where everything is how it looks like - whether it's people or clothing - they have a thin veneer of beauty on it. But I'm guessing it's as dirty as a public dumpster. On another note, that Andre looks horrific to me....he would make a good movie monster, a fashion Jabba the Hut. With his huge ugly pitted nose, bigger body and ugly clothing words escapes me on how horrible he looks. Everything I read about Nuclear Wintour is confirmed by Gunn - guess she's more like the Devil Wears Prada, eh?
So why did you bother to read the article in the first place? So you can profess your rights to the world? Gunn is on the money. I am annoyed that Obama is not having the Salahis prosecuted. Her MS stands for Moronic Sociopath. There are no pills for that.
What a silly mommy! Katie Holmes takes Suri into the water in her clothes as the two spend the afternoon at the beach in Miami. More of Today's Hottest Photos
