Forget the Bikini: Julia Roberts Covers Up at Rome 'Eat, Pray, Love' Premiere

Julia Roberts Wears No Bikini at Rome Eat Pray Love Premiere

Just weeks ago, Julia Roberts was baring her body in a bikini. But when promoting 'Eat, Pray, Love' in Italy, she has suddenly gone undercover.

Our pals at StyleList spotted the actress at the Rome premiere of 'EPL" on Sept. 16 in a long-sleeved, floor-length gown.

The classic, black lace Dolce & Gabbana frock, which featured a collar-bone baring rounded neck and a bow at the waist, concealed every inch of Roberts's fabulous figure, which, as her bikini showed when she was vacationing in Hawaii after the American press tour of 'EPL,' betrayed the fact that she's a mother of three.

Roberts, who was accompanied by her daddy-to-be co-star Javier Bardem, wore an elegant updo to the event, which was held at Rome's Space Moderno cinema. Earlier in the day, she appeared at a photo call for the film in a Stella McCartney tunic, DVF leggings, and Roger Vivier shoes.

Perhaps the Lancôme spokesperson opted to wear less form-fitting numbers because of what happened to her the last time she was in the Eternal City: Roberts confessed to Entertainment Weekly that she ate so much Italian food during the making of "Eat, Pray, Love" that by the time she left Rome "I was 7 to 10 pounds heavier... I could've used a bigger pair of jeans when I went off to India!"

Roberts' 'Eat Pray Love' has performed below expectations, taking in just over $75 million since opening on Aug. 13. The movie, based on Elizabeth Gilbert's chick-lit phenomenon, was expected to be a domestic hit in the vein of 'Julie and Julia.'

It's about time Julia, and some of the other actresses her age, are just not offered enough good scripts, and should retire. Her movies no longer make her a real actress but, just a parody in various forms of her traditional loud laugh, and geez, a stupid woman. She has the dough, the kids, the husband, the houses, what does she want? Eat, Pray,Love was a waste of money, and just a boring road trip through Italy. Fans no longer want to see her movies. She is no Meryl Strept or Helen Mirren, just not enough depth to her acting to have longevity like these other actresses. Movies like hers are just thrown out there for audiences to spend money on, and there is absolutley zero attraction, so why bother? Why waste all that money, and peoples time on a flop?

While YOU may not like Julia Roberts, you do not speak for anybody else. The bottom line is that movie making is a business. If she did not make money for the studios they wouldn't ask her to make movies. Also you say theres zero attraction to her movies yet according to your review, you paid to see it, yes? Proving your own point wrong. I suggest that you no longer go to her movies and the rest of us will make our own decision.

Roberts, you have more money then you can spend. You haven't been a BOX OFFICE draw for years. Your past 4 movies prooved that. Maybe internationaly, the movies made money.

The book was awful, and though I've not seen it, I imagine the movie wasn't any better. Perhaps the reason the movie flopped at the box office says less about Julia Roberts than it does about the material upon which it was based.The only book that was made better as a movie was The Bridges of Madison County. But there, the book was so abysmal that it couldn't have gotten worse.

Naturally I have no idea who you people are. However, to make statements like you've done about Julia is horrifying. You must be the kind of people that watch all the ignoramous reality shows on t.v. because your mental awareness is at the bottom.
Julia is a wonderful actress, a real natural & I'm hopeful her career never ends.

Man, what Julia haters. Jealous much? Just because you've made a lot of money doesn't mean you should retire. Or if you've hit 40 years old. You don't see the 40 year old men retiring. Why should the women?
