Katy Perry Reacts (Proudly) to Russell Brand's Arrest

Score one for chivalry! In a
tweet last night (that she tagged
#dontf--kwiththeBrands) pop star
Katy Perry did not mince words:
"If you cross the line & try an put a lens up my dress, my fiance will do his job & protect me."
Russell Brand was
arrested Friday after a scuffle with a photographer at Delta Airlines security inside Los Angeles International Airport, where the engaged couple was allegedly being tailed by overzealous paparazzi. Brand reportedly lost his cool and came to blows with a few of the shutterbugs, one of whom made a citizen's arrest. LAX police then made it official.
A suspicion of battery charge followed, and after being booked, the 35-year-old British funnyman (on a break from shooting a bawdy remake of the 1981 comedy 'Arthur' with Jennifer Garner and Dame Helen Mirren) was released on his own recognizance. The couple were originally headed to Las Vegas on a Delta flight they failed to catch. Brand is due in court on Oct. 15.
Earlier in the week, Perry and Brand celebrated the one-year anniversary of the night they met at 2009's MTV Video Music Awards; the jet-setting duo became engaged New Year's Eve while traveling in India. Gushing about his famous fiancee, Brand recently told Entertainment Tonight, 'I've been poor and I've lived without love, and now I have some money and I have love, and the most important thing is love.'

If paparazzi are going to act the way they do, then they need to be ready to accept the reaction they get.

There are three people in life that I would LOOOOOOVVVVVVVEEEEEE to punch in the face......David Letterman, Bill Maher and Russell Brand.....F'n limey!
Brand's only crime was that he didn't hit them hard enough.
The couple that swap pap slap tales together...stay together?

The paparazzi should be arrested for trailing (aka stalking) them. At the end of the day, entertainers are still just people with a right to healthy boundries, safety and private time.

No kidding! We all know how shy the pizza faced Katy is.
I'm not a fan, so I'm not defending her because she is my idol or anything...but you have to look at her album cover as part of her job or career - so look at it this way, if an actor bares their body in a movie, does that give anyone the right to aim a camera up their skirt?? NO. She deserves her privacy. And I really think Brand seems like a pretty sweet guy, I didn't like him at first, but it seems he really loves her.
I would hate to see under her dress if that thing has been hitting it...more crabs than cape cod

Watch for his suicide in the papers over the next year when Katy starts being tapped by some pretty boys in hollywood.
If the paparazzi is able to stalk and then make citizens arrests can't the celebrities in turn do the same to them? There needs to be some kind of law against paparazzi's. They are vulger ( asking Sandra if she misses Jesse) making the untalented popular (Paris and Kim) and just making celebrities dread going out. I like to read about my favorite performers and actors/actresses but I don't want them terrorized just because they are famous. If I'm at work I surely don't want to be bothered with it after i'm off the clock.

The paparazzi aren't making anybody rich and famous, talented or otherwise. It's the fans that buy the magazines that buy the pictures that they take famous, and those are for the most part the same people who gripe about the paparazzi the loudest. If you don't like having people stalking these celebrities, talented or not. Cancel your subscriptions to people and ask your beauty salons to do the same. Of course we all know that's not going to happen.
Why do famous people use LAX?

Seriously, does anyone really believe a photographer was sticking a camera under Katy's dress and taking pictures? Really?

I'm amazed that the paparazzi could photograph anything other than Katy Perry's huge forehead. I swear you could land a 747 on that forehead of her's.

I am just sick of this couple. They are way over expossed.
Get married already and stop telling everyone about your sex life. It's gross.

I am no fan of Katy, yes of Russell. They have a right like anyone else to their privacy. The photographer had no right at all to snap a picture like that. Good for you Russell! Katy would be an idiot to let a man who loves her like that get away. Be happy and stay together.
