Lindsay Lohan Confesses: 'I Did In Fact Fail' Drug Test

Did you expect Lindsay Lohan, fresh from jail and rehab, to lash out against yesterday's reports that she'd tested positive for cocaine in a recent drug test?

Did you predict her lawyer would issue a statement insisting that the actress was being wrongly accused?

Did you even wonder whether the news was somehow incorrect?

Well, think again.

The 24-year-old 'Machete' star (who, just last weekend, poked fun at her substance abuse problem on the VMA's) took to Twitter overnight and made no bones about it: She flunked her latest court-ordered drug test.

Check out her series of messages here, and read on to learn just which usual suspect her dear old dad, Michael Lohan, blames.

According to the terms of Lohan's probation, a failed drug test means she is looking at yet another 30 days in jail.

In other tweets from Lohan, she added, "Substance abuse is a disease, which unfortunately doesn't go away over night. I am working hard to overcome it and am taking positive steps....forward every day. I am testing every single day and doing what I must do to prevent any mishaps in the future."

But what kind of future awaits? After all the drama of Lohan's trial and sentencing, many had high hopes that the onetime child star with so much promise could turn her life around (a la Drew Barrymore or Robert Downey Jr.) and forge a new, drug-free career path. But with bad influences reportedly leading her astray, confidence in her is shakier than ever.

A source close to the family told PopEater yesterday, "If anyone around Lindsay was in denial, that has all changed now....People suffering from addiction need constant help and not everyone around Lindsay admitted she had a problem. She was staying out late in L.A. as soon as she left rehab and while in New York this past Saturday night, she was seen out at The Boom Boom Room with a horde of girls until 2:15 am."

Today, PopEater's Rob Shuter spoke with Lindsay's father, Michael Lohan, who blamed Lindsay's mother for having their daughter fly to Dina's birthday celebration in New York, instead of Dina going to L.A. (home base for Lindsay's recent attempts to stay sober). A witness who spotted the young actress partying last weekend in New York tells Shuter, "She didn't look good. I suspect Lindsay will not be welcomed back after all this negative press."

Lohan's recent Twitter mea culpa concluded with gratitude: "I am so thankful for the support of my fans, loved ones and immediate family, who understand that i am trying hard....but also that I am a work in progress, just as anyone else. I am keeping my faith, and I am hopeful....Thank you all!!!"

This is exactly what I thought would happen when I found out that the court ordered 90 days in Rehab was dropped. Of course she used. Of course she got caught. Last time she went to jail she only did a fraction of the ordered time behind bars due to overcrowding. To her, it's worth it. She has never had to actually pay a price for her behavior and thinks she will once again skirt through any punishment.

This is what happens when the court goes easy and lets her out early from not only the jail sentence, but also the rehab sentence. Lindsay needs some serious help or it won't be too long that we will read her obit! She needs to be sent back to jail and then rehab, only this time make her serve the entire sentence. Stop going so easy on her! She needs to get away from her so called, caring family and friends. She needs to wake up and take this seriously, as if her life depended on it, because it does!

You typed "at least she could do is share". I guess that could be an English sentence by dropping the words "could do is," capitalizing the "a" in "at" and putting a period at the end of the words. It still would not make much sense, but it would be a sentence.

Well this is the first time she admits to it..a baby step forward. Now she needs to serve her jail time like anyone else would have toand do a minimum of 90 days in rehab away from her family with intensive therapy. Dina,,head out of the sand yet?

Yeah, i'm sorry, it's just another ploy on her part. She knows what we want to hear and she says it. She's just trying to stay out of jail and is full of crap. Taking responsiblity for real would be her going back to rehab, at least ninety days, voluntarily and CHANGING her life, not getting a dirty UA and acting like she feels bad and then going back out and partying again. She is sooooo full of crap and she disgusts me. PS-Michael, she can get drugs wherever she is, not just in NY, get over it. She makes her own choices, even though her loser mother supports her in it, it's still her choice!!

No it isn't. She totally admitted to it in 2008, with an appolgy back then too. Now, after the loser UCLA rehab doctor let her out telling her she had no problem (jail time for Him) she just went back to what she does every day: Party all night and drink excessive amounts of Alcohol and take Drugs. It's her whole life, with a porno movie thrown in for good measure. All the people around her are afraid they will lose their sugar mommy's money so they pretend she's just a regular gal. That said, she is responsible 100% for her addiction. Lindsey is to blame for Lindsey's addiction, no one else. The people around her just support her on being an addict. Including her Mom. She's violated her parole (Again!) and it's time to spend some quanity time in jail and many months in a REAL, not UCLA version, Rehab. She needs a new Sponser like Sam was, with her 24/7 to start, after rehab. Let's see what kind of Balls the Los Angeles Judicial Department has. I'm guessing: None. They have too many Stars in their eyes. How she Ever got out of punishment before is unbelievable but now what are they going to do about their BIG mistake. We'll see.

The typical manipulative beotch. Using addiction as a convenience because society has so largely bought into the concept. And using it in such a way that she gets what she wants 90% or more of the time. But unwilling to change her behavior. This is her pattern and it will continue no matter what they throw at her. She's just like my ex wife and it makes me sick. Let her do herself in or not but don't pander to her!

Great Suggestion! But I'm not so sure she "really" wants to live. Her issues are other than addiciton. She needs someone to support her in getting away from the fam damily and sick friends where she can see the light! Sometimes it's just too dark in there.
