Lindsay Lohan Confesses: 'I Did In Fact Fail' Drug Test

Did you expect Lindsay Lohan, fresh from jail and rehab, to lash out against yesterday's reports that she'd tested positive for cocaine in a recent drug test?

Did you predict her lawyer would issue a statement insisting that the actress was being wrongly accused?

Did you even wonder whether the news was somehow incorrect?

Well, think again.

The 24-year-old 'Machete' star (who, just last weekend, poked fun at her substance abuse problem on the VMA's) took to Twitter overnight and made no bones about it: She flunked her latest court-ordered drug test.

Check out her series of messages here, and read on to learn just which usual suspect her dear old dad, Michael Lohan, blames.

According to the terms of Lohan's probation, a failed drug test means she is looking at yet another 30 days in jail.

In other tweets from Lohan, she added, "Substance abuse is a disease, which unfortunately doesn't go away over night. I am working hard to overcome it and am taking positive steps....forward every day. I am testing every single day and doing what I must do to prevent any mishaps in the future."

But what kind of future awaits? After all the drama of Lohan's trial and sentencing, many had high hopes that the onetime child star with so much promise could turn her life around (a la Drew Barrymore or Robert Downey Jr.) and forge a new, drug-free career path. But with bad influences reportedly leading her astray, confidence in her is shakier than ever.

A source close to the family told PopEater yesterday, "If anyone around Lindsay was in denial, that has all changed now....People suffering from addiction need constant help and not everyone around Lindsay admitted she had a problem. She was staying out late in L.A. as soon as she left rehab and while in New York this past Saturday night, she was seen out at The Boom Boom Room with a horde of girls until 2:15 am."

Today, PopEater's Rob Shuter spoke with Lindsay's father, Michael Lohan, who blamed Lindsay's mother for having their daughter fly to Dina's birthday celebration in New York, instead of Dina going to L.A. (home base for Lindsay's recent attempts to stay sober). A witness who spotted the young actress partying last weekend in New York tells Shuter, "She didn't look good. I suspect Lindsay will not be welcomed back after all this negative press."

Lohan's recent Twitter mea culpa concluded with gratitude: "I am so thankful for the support of my fans, loved ones and immediate family, who understand that i am trying hard....but also that I am a work in progress, just as anyone else. I am keeping my faith, and I am hopeful....Thank you all!!!"

Lohan NEEDS long term treatment ,period. All addicts are in denial ,one time or another.Alwys refusing treatment ,always using their stinkin thinking instead of turning over their will . She needs to taken OFF the streets now if she wants to beat this monster.But really ,she has to want it.

Cannot understand why Lindsay being a talented person that she would keep going back to the old habit. Truly they should lock her up for 6 months OR what ever a non celebrity would get as a penalty? She should get the same no wheeling and dealing. Surly there is a TRUE judge that will withhold the law? BUT Lindsay’s first step STAY AWAY from ALL family members. They in a way are one source of Lindsay’s downfall.

What will be interesting is to see if what the judge said he will do. Lets see if she has to go back to jail or just go back to rehab for 90 days. She needs help to bet this drug habit but at the same time like anyone else she needs to suffer the consequences of her actions.

I agree about her father trying to help her .. That's exactly why Lindsay doesn't like him . He wants her in rehab.. Her Mom is her enabler and does drugs and parties with her .So of course Mom is wonderful .Lindsay hasn't reached bottom yet . And until she does this will continue .

"Regrettably, in fact I did fail my most recent drug test". OBVIOUSLY she would know if she was going to fail her drug test, she WAS DOING drugs. OBVIOUSLY there was no regret while she was doing them, KNOWING she was going to have to take a drug test. She only REGRETS that she got caught AGAIN. I only hope that the judge she appears in front of, gives her the harshest penalty possible and refuses to hear any appeals.

What do they mean "another" 30 days in jail, 30 days in L.A. equals 5 or 6 because of crowding. If she's going to see any extended time, it's going to have to be for a Felony. This person is a liability to herself and Society. The Courts are going to screw around and keep her on the streets until she kills someone with her car while high and what will be their response to that?

When she was tested for drugs, and she failed, she should have been taken immediately back to jail. She keeps getting treated like she is something special and she needs to understand that now,she is no different than the other junkie types in jail except she is kept away from the general population. Part of her probation should have been a curfew and she should never have been allowed to go back into a "club" until after her probation was over. Someone is dropping the ball on this kid. Time to start treating her like they would treat Laquisha or Maria. No more "poor Lindsay"!! And her tweets are not her words, but her handlers.

I agree with you there. She should have gone directly to jail. Send her out of state to a less crowded prison if that is the problem. No appeals, no excuses! There are no excuses. I mean what could she possibly use as an excuse? I failed my drug test because I was wearing someone else's pants? Or I thought it was gum? Or it wasn't me that failed? Or I failed because I wasn't doing drugs?

Did anyone have any doubt??? After the circus that was her trial and sentence, I was disappointed when the original judge caved to the media scrutiny and withdrew herself from the case. Had the judge had her way, Lindsay would still have been in inpatient care, which is what she needs. Along with distance from her mother, who enables her and who I believe is a huge part of the problem. Maybe now, Lindsay will get the help she needs and a sentence that is fair and that she will have to serve without the special treatment that celebrity status seems to entitle her to.

OK, she messed up, so did Robert Downey, but if her parents don't stop enabling her, and want her out everytime, she will never get well. Didn't one or both of the lovely parents say she never did drugs? I hope they put her in a place where she can get clean and away from those who enable her. Who gave her the drugs?

her mom is disgusting.......lindsay is probably liking all of this attention... going to jail for a little while is just a break for her, she knows when she gets out, its party time....lindsay is still getting movies and being on MTV...lindsay will stay in this cycle until something tragic happens
