Jennifer Lopez's Ex, Ojani Noa, Wants to Audition for 'American Idol'?

The ink isn't even dry on
Jennifer Lopez's new $12 million contract to join 'American Idol' and her first husband, former waiter Ojani Noa, already has plans to crash the party -- this week, in fact.
Noa's manager, Ed Meyer, told
E! that the aspiring singer "will be in line at the Forum [in Los Angeles] on Sept. 22 to try out for 'American Idol'
in front of his ex-wife, Jennifer Lopez."
Meyer adds, "He escaped Cuba and married Jennifer Lopez, now he wants to be the American Idol....Of course, he will sing a Jennifer Lopez song."
Sept. 22, don't forget, also happens to be the day Fox has invited media to a major press conference, where Ryan Seacrest will officially introduce the new buzzed-about judging panel. Just why is Ojani Noa -- who wed J.Lo in 1997 before the pair split months later -- trying to steal his famous ex-wife's thunder during one of her most high-profile career milestones?
Clearly, the couple's post-divorce history has fed into Noa's latest scheme.
(Not that his stunt will go very far, as 'Idol' fans know that contestants in each city must pass a preliminary tryout for production team members before they can sing in person for judges -- and at age 36, Noa is technically ineligible to begin with, as 'Idol' rules require all auditionees to be 15-28 years old).
If you're wondering whether Lopez, now married to Marc Anthony and the mother of toddler twins, will have a sense of humor about entertaining her old flame's latest grab for fame, fat chance. Since last year, the former spouses have been sparring in court over Noa's attempt to profit from private footage allegedly taped during their honeymoon -- which may or may not contain nudity (the judge in the case has blocked Noa from releasing the video "anywhere, anytime").
Noa has denied trying to peddle a sex tape of his ex, but he's also attempted to write a tell-all book about their relationship, which Lopez blocked in court. The couple were on friendly terms for a spell after they broke up: several years ago, the singer-actress became a restauranteur and hired Noa to manage her Pasadena eatery, Madras, in 2007 -- but he was ultimately fired.
Sounds like too much idle time on this would-be Idol's hands.

Fox has officially ruined my favorite show by hiring Jennifer Lopez as a judge. I don't know anyone who is not upset by this. I think she will be biased toward Latino singers, as she seems to have forgotten where she was born.

That is your favorite show? You need to click some other channels on the tv. Try "The First 48" It is much more entertaining.

The auditions shouldn't be broadcast. They should only start the show after all of the worst ones have been eliminated. We don't need a freak show like the "Gong Show." Also, Randy should stop calling everyone "Dawg." How boring is Randy! Utterly boring! Goodbye (Rude) Simon! Glad you're gone and sorry you stayed so long. Whatever happened to "Showtime at the Apollo?" Great talent there.

And you, the press are only feeding into his plea to be in the public eye. if you were not reporting this it never would have made it to the public so he is not to blame, YOU are to blame.
