Randy Quaid and Wife Evi Arrested Again

Serial scofflaws Randy and Evi Quaid are facing felony burglary charges after they were placed under arrest Saturday afternoon in Southern California, the
AP reports. Cops also charged Evi Quaid with resisting arrest.
Sheriff's deputies were first alerted yesterday to the presence of illegal squatters residing in a property's guest house in Santa Barbara County. However, once they encountered the Quaids on the scene, the couple claimed they'd owned the property since the 1990's. The property owner's rep then produced documentation showing that the Quaids haven't owned the property since 2007, when they sold it. Somehow, they'd recently moved back into the guest house in question.
And they apparently weren't living there quietly. A contractor reportedly showed police "more than $5,000 in damages" that he believed the Quaids caused to the guest house.
In addition to counts of felony residential burglary, the pair were each slapped with the misdemeanor charge of entering a noncommercial building without consent. Bail for each was set at $50,000.
Randy Quaid, 59, and Evi, 46, married in 1989, not long after the actor won a Golden Globe (for 1987's 'LBJ: The Early Years'). But recent legal troubles have eclipsed his career achievements:
- The 'Independence Day' star sued Focus Features in 2006, claiming producers lured him to join the cast of 'Brokeback Mountain' for little pay, before the film went on to gross more than $80 million at the domestic box office.
- Quaid was expelled from the stage performers' union, Actors Equity Association, after he allegedly missed rehearsals for a play in 2007; the Seattle cast reported inappropriate behavior, and some close to the couple believe lawsuits stemming from the incident triggered the duo's criminal exploits.
- In 2009, the Quaids were accused of running out on a $10,000 California hotel bill and, after repeatedly skipping court dates, were finally tracked down in Texas and extradited.

Has the Quaid family tried any kind of intervention with Randy and his wife? They both seem to suffer from some type of mental illness. No one is going to hire him in this condition. How is it or what is it that causes such off the wall behavior?

Possibly drugs. I think that is more likely than two people both suffering mental illness at the same time.
Multible incidents of peculiar behavior would indicate some type of substance abuse. These people need help.

I wonder, will they get off like Paris Hilton (she has got the whole heiress thing backwards) or Lohan (wow, is it good that they let HER out of rehab early??) I for the first time have been sucked into the vortex of the justice system. It isn't pretty. The DA's don't care if you are innocent. They care about closing cases. I have done everything they have asked for FOUR YEARS, and I am still on probation. I am Bullock's non-stalking stalker. Does the world know yet that I was her neighbor for two years without incident?? Do they know my FORENSIC psychiatrist proved I don't have a single personality trait as a "stalker"? paid a huge price for bearing false witness against a neighbor didn't ya Bullock!!!

Randy Quaid is such a great actor, I really hope he and his wife get straightened out. I hate to say it, but I'm guessing drugs and/or alcohol is responsible for their recent behavior. I hope they get help together and have a happy ending.
