Surprise! Arrest Warrant Issued for Lindsay Lohan

You saw it coming: After failing two drug tests just weeks after leaving rehab, a judge has revoked Lindsay Lohan's probation and issued a bench warrant for the troubled starlet's arrest.

According to TMZ, Lohan won't actually be tracked down and loaded into the back of a police cruiser unless she misses a court date later this week. The warrant has been placed on hold until 8:30AM on Friday, at which time it will be activated if she fails to appear before Judge Elden Fox.

The 24-year-old 'Machete' star took to Twitter over the weekend and admitted that she "did in fact fail my most recent drug test" and that she was "prepared to appear before Judge Fox next week as a result."

According to the terms of Lohan's probation, a failed drug test means she is looking at another 30 days in jail.

In other tweets from Lohan, she added, "Substance abuse is a disease, which unfortunately doesn't go away over night. I am working hard to overcome it and am taking positive steps ... forward every day. I am testing every single day and doing what I must do to prevent any mishaps in the future."

But what kind of future awaits? Following Lohan's trial, sentencing and stints in jail and rehab, many had high hopes that the onetime child star with so much promise could turn her life around and forge ahead drug-free and in charge of her career. But with bad influences reportedly leading her astray, confidence in Lohan is shakier than ever.

A source close to the family told PopEater, "If anyone around Lindsay was in denial, that has all changed now ... People suffering from addiction need constant help and not everyone around Lindsay admitted she had a problem. She was staying out late in LA as soon as she left rehab."

Lohan was released from court-ordered rehab at UCLA Medical Center on Aug. 24 after only 22 days. Judge Marsha Revel sentenced Lohan to 90 days in jail and a 90-day inpatient rehabilitation program on July 6 for violating her probation in a 2007 DUI case. She ended up serving only 14 days due to good behavior and overcrowding at the jail.

According to sources close to the case, doctors overseeing the actress at UCLA saw no cause to keep her in rehab for the entirety of the 90 days she was sentenced to by Judge Revel, who has since recused herself from further proceedings related to Lohan.

Her legal woes began in May 2007 when she was arrested following a minor car accident and charged with DUI. Just two months later, she was taken into custody for suspicion of drunk driving and cocaine possession.

Following her first DUI, Lohan spent 84 minutes in jail after pleading guilty to two misdemeanor counts of being under the influence of cocaine and no contest to two counts of driving with a blood-alcohol level above 0.08 percent and one count of reckless driving.

It looks like the Judge isn't interested in meeting to discuss anything until after Linday serves her 30 days!

Lindsay's doctors have a roll in this. What the heck were they thinking when they discharged her early from rehab??? I hope jail isn't the only place where she could dry out and learn new habits. These doctors failed this addict. Best wishes for the future.

Jail isn't going to change anything for Lindsey, nor is rehab... she is the only one who can make the changes needed to turn her life around. She needs to be subjected to the same consequences as anyone else would and then just let her go about her life, just like the legal system would for anyone else. The legal system can't "fix" Lindsey.

Get ready for the crying and the hysterics that she will undoubtedly use in court to try and sway the judge that she'll be a good girl and do better if only she is allowed to stay out of jail. I hope the judge remembers that she is an actor and will use her skills to try and persuade the court.

ANOTHER 30 days? When did she do the first 30 days? How about we just send her useless butt to jail for 6 years and see if her "disease" isn't cured in that amount of time. Calling an addiction a disease is the biggest copout in the world. It's not a disease, never has been. Treat it for what it is - an ADDICTION.

Do you think Lindsay will make a trip to the nail salon before her court appearance???? She NOW needs to serve ALL her time in both jail and court. It might just save her life!

oh great article ,I can only conclude that you, KT, have been living in an isolated world for quite some time. Lohan has done nothing to get herself cleaned up, she thinks she is special and laws and rules don't apply to her as they do others. Sorry, but she is no more special than anyone else. I don't think Lindsay should go to jail. I think she should go to 90 days in a lock down rehab, the type of rehab that she should have been sent to last time round. No excuses, no I'm not as bad as people thought so i should go home early, 90 days, minimum.

Only time she should is her probation violation, and get it over with once and for all. Then let Lindsay do with her life as SHE wants. Court ordered rehab hardly ever works. Rehab is something you do BEFORE you get arrested, repeatedly, for possession. She's going to jail for POSSESSION, not addiction.

She has been doing ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to clean up...that's the point! Leave her alone and she'll be dead within 2 years. (I'm a substance abuse caseworker...I know of what I speak).
