Lady Gaga Proclaims Meat Dress as Gay Rights Symbol

When Lady Gaga called out to her little monsters and amped up her political campaign against "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" at a rally in Portland, ME, on Monday, people looked drunk on daydreams about Gaga for President. But that was before she confused people by comparing her famed meat dress to a political symbol for gay rights.

"Equality is the prime rib of America, but because I am gay, I don't get to enjoy the greatest cut of meat my country has to offer," Gaga proclaimed to the rally crowd. "Shouldn't everyone deserve to wear the same meat dress I do?"

Maybe her meat dress metaphor had more fat than muscle, but Gaga got serious without her crazy outfits and strobe lights, and rallied a passionate crowd against the controversial ban on gays serving openly in the military, the New York Times reports.

It was the latest move in Gaga's campaign for gay rights since last week when she made the repeal of 17-year-old "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" her personal mission, and even called out Senator John McCain in a YouTube video.

Instead of keeping with the status quo, Gaga proposed a new law for gays in the military.

"If you don't like it, go home!" Gaga yelled.

Like it or not, Gaga is up against some tough odds in Washington where the repeal of the policy faces a filibuster, but that didn't stop her from calling out undecided Senators Olympia Snowe and Susan Collins, both from Maine, and Scott Brown from nearby Massachusetts.

The vote to open debate on the issue faces its first hurdle in the Senate on Tuesday.

she is so desperate for attention, and she cant sing thats wehy she uses auto tune

She needs to go away. I do not understand what people see in her. The only time her voice sounds decent is in a recording studio and that's only because they can make it sound good with machines. Other than that she can't sing, she's is definetly not attractive in any way.

The dont ask, dont tell, is all about ones safety.
Believe it or not, some people do not like gay people. Wrong, may be so, but its a fact of life. In the military, there are some people that would rather kill a gay man, than to work beside them. We call it homophobia. In another words, gaga is trying to put mens life in danger, by opening her mouth, again.
Why? All for publicty, anything for some attention. If it gets someone killed, so be it.
Gaga is one pathetic lady, gross, and plain riduclous.

Shut up,Shut UP,SHUT UP! "Lady Gaga", it's unfortunate you are only surrounded by sycophants, else a true friend would tell you to SHUT UP and GET SOME HELP. I mean, sweetie, money might have bought you that meat dress, but it's obviously NOT buying you someone you can trust/advice that is sound. Next time, donate the funds to a food bank and skip the theatrics.

Do any of you understand why she wore a dress made out of raw meat? You actually think she wore it to be weird? Yes, she might be a little strange, but if you've done any research on it, wearing this dress is making a statement, there was an article in the 70s where a women did the same thing. Society portrays women as a piece of meat... therefore she's standing up to the oppression of women... WE ARE NOT A PIECE OF MEAT.

The reason gay protests are heard are because A) they are a minority group, and B) TOO MANY CLOSE MINDED PEOPLE DO NOTHING BUT RIP THEM APART FOR WHO THEY ARE. No, soldiers do not have the right to sleep in a different room from someone who is gay. EQUALITY. People are doing to gays what they did to blacks. Learn your damn lesson people and just accept it.

Lady Gaga needs to shut up! She's saying that serving in the military is the best right (prime rib in Gaga language) that America has to offer. That just may be the stupidest thing I've heard in a while. People are over-dramatizing this issue and letting their emotions run wild. Their are practical reasons to the "don't ask, don't tell" policy in the military. Understand what the practical reason is before you oppose it based on an emotional impulse and political correctness. The military doesn't exist to preserve your emotional sensibilities.
