Katy Perry's chesty duet with Elmo won't make it on the air. The segment has been yanked from the TV broadcast of 'Sesame Street' due to feedback from viewers on YouTube. TMZ claims that some viewers were less than tickled by the amount of cleavage the singer showed during her performance of 'Hot N Cold.'In the video, Perry shows up to play with the little red muppet, but he isn't exactly up for the fun. Perry then breaks out into a kid's version of 'Hot N Cold.'
Producers found the segment to be too hot for TV -- even though her bare chest is reportedly covered in flesh-colored mesh that goes all the way to her neck.

Oh, and you would be pretty naive to believe kids do not see and copy everything they are exposed to.......

She did have clothes on... did anyone see a nipslip?? no!!!!!!!!!!!
Oh please, the video was cute and my son watches Sesame Street, its not like shes Pamela Anderson wearing a bikini. Shes beautiful and we need to support her.

The song is cute but the breasts are not for small children. or children up to age 12. Even disney channel has respect. They do not show breasts bouncing around like that. If she sis cover up more it would be ok then. For me too see who cares but not for children, sorry. Katey perry should have some self respect. She is a attention seeker.

It's such a shame their pulling it. It's adorable. As others have said, reshoot it or retouch it. It's too cute not to use.

why not re-shoot the video is a more modest top. There. End of story!

oh....who cares if they pull it, i seriously don't think any little kid is going to care if it doesn't show it's just another overrated star who is not appropriate for the 1 to 12 tr old set!
It’s not about a child overtly recognizing or seeing cleavage. It is the day after day, hour after hour messaging around body type for one, as well as appropriateness in public and self esteem. There is constant non-stop public sexuality – not sexual activity, but sexualizing just about everything, now including skits with Elmo. Children may not focus on her cleavage, but they do take away yet another message around how women should look and dress (sexualized – I don’t care what anyone says, women show cleavage to enhance beauty or their sexuality – period). Seems like for so many women these days, their self esteem, as well as how they are treated and viewed in general has to do with how they look and how they dress. Everything is sexualized in our country today. I’d like to let 3, 4, 5 year old girls be little girls, and for parents to not have to worry about the images that are being displayed constantly, and the impact on sexuality and self worth that begin to form early on. Can’t we have even one children’s show without cleavage? Is that really such a big deal or an outrageous request? I am doing everything I can to help my girls grow and learn about their value and self worth as girls and then women, without having to invoke sexuality to get there. It is very difficult to do, because everywhere we turn these days, cleavage, spray painted on pants, shorts that barely cover butt cheeks, etc. I thank those at Sesame Street for maintaining a place where we can go to escape the constant barrage and to have images of women who do not base their whole being on their looks and sexuality.

VERY WELL PUT. THAT IS WHY SOME PARENTS ARE SO STRONGLY AGAINST THIS SKIT.
Don't blame Katy for her costume. The show has costumers, I'm sure. They probably dressed her that way. Even if she had some input, the costumer should be the one to make the final decision.

I am actually a left leaning liberal, and I still feel that this cute video would be inappropriate for Sesame street. Two reasons:
Sesame Street is a TV-Y rated show, specifically intended for young viewers. Other shows that share this rating are Go Diego Go and Curious George. Cleavage is not expected in this type of show. By the way, for those who equate dancing with the stars to Sesame Street, DWTS is a TV-PG rated show. Entirely different. Look it up if you do not understand. These ratings help parents decide if the show is appropriate for their children.
Reason 2. Girls have enough issues with body image given the current media coverage of sexuality. Let's not have that issue presented on a kids show. It would be nice to know that watching Sesame Street my children are not forming stereotypes about provocative dress for women. I will happily explain and guide them when they encounter this subject matter, but I would not expect it on Sesame Street.
Thats all,

Wow, somebody on AOL who actually has a clue. Well said John.
Well said John! You are so right. I love Katy but do consider this outfit right for Sesame Street. The video is adorable, but still. Isn't there a costume person to make sure people are dressed for the roles they play?

She showed no more cleavage that Wonder Woman back in the 1980's. Everything is not sexual people!!!. Please give me a break! People that have a problem with this video, need to realize that it is their sick twisted minds making mountains out of moehills! my kids would not being payig attention to Katy Perry's cleavage. At their age, Elmo is more important!!!

I am a mother of 3 boys ages 7,2 and 1. I would let them watch it since there is nothing wrong with how she is dressed. Do people even listen to what is going on or just immediately judge her by her outfit? She was playing dress up! How many of you have little girls that play dress up? It is the same thing. Younger children don't have any interest in members of the opposite sex in fact most of them think they are gross. Parents who have dirty minds is the reason we have so many teenagers being in sexual relationships and having babies of their own. People need to grow up and stop being so judgmental!

You don't have girls so of course you think its fine. Yes girls play dress up but not in that type of play clothes. Not my daughters.
Why does it matter if I have girls or not? Whether you let your daughter/s dress that way has nothing to do with it. I may not have daughters, but I do have younger sisters and female cousins. Girls wear less than that in stores and everywhere else. Children are exposed to it each and every day (unless people like you shelter their children) so what the hell is the issue? Give me a break and take a step out into the REAL world.
Oh man! WHy don't they just re-shoot it with Katy wearing something more "acceptable" for children's programming? I loved the segment alot, though the choice of outfit was a bit much IMHO for little kids TV.

I do agree with the idea of digital enhancement or unenhancement on the top. It shouldn't have been on a kids show. BUT if your kid isn't scarred for life by watching Elmo in the first place, this sure ain't gonna do it. I do have a wild idea parents, how about turn off the tv and do something with your kid yourself?
