That was fast. Just before midnight on Friday, Lindsay Lohan was released from jail. The actress, who confessed a week ago on Twitter that she was ready to "face the consequences" for her latest slip-up, spent little more than 13 hours locked up in Lynwood, Calif., according to People.com, after flunking a court-ordered drug test (in which cocaine was reportedly detected) in violation of her probation terms.
Her previous stint behind bars began July 20, and she was freed on Aug. 2, after serving 14 days (shortened from 90); she went straight into rehab but her original three-month stay was also shortened.
Earlier on Friday, Lohan had been denied bail in Beverly Hills Superior Court by Judge Elden Fox, but his ruling was reversed later in the day by Judge Patricia Schnegg after Shawn Chapman Holley, the actress' lawyer, appealed for her client's right to bail.
After the new ruling, Lohan was permitted to post $300,000 bail. Now, she must be fitted within 24 hours with yet another "SCRAM" bracelet (her third) to monitor any alcohol intake.
And the habitual night owl is also ordered to quit her favorite haunts on the club scene: the new ruling requires her to stay out of any establishments where "alcohol is the chief item for sale."

The judge who reversed the ruling makes me want to puke!! Bail, my beind!!!!! She violated her probation and was informed that ANY violation would result in jail time. Jail in LA is a JOKE!!!!! Send her sorry butt into a real locked down rehab facility. My son battled substance abuse for nearly half his life. He was given an eight month sentence in jail for a probation violation (after that, he almost died of a drug overdose). He volunteraly signed himself into a locked down, very stict rehab center. It has proved to be the best thing for him and our family. We are all very proud of him and wish him continued success in his sobriety. We couldn't imagine life without him.

WTF? If it were you or me, our butts would have still been sitting in jail from the first 90 day sentence in August. Two sets of rules baby....one for us, and one for them. Pathetic..I love this , So does My boyfriend .he is almost 11year older than me .i met him via age'lessmate.c'om a nice place for seeking age le ss love.which gives you a chance to make your life better and open opportunities for you to meet the attractive young girls and treat you like a king. Maybe you wanna check it out or tell your friends..
Violation of probation has to be proven in court. It's called due process, or maybe you prefer to go straight to state prison at your next traffic stop. Bail is a right unless it is proven you are a danger to society. Don't worry, you just know they're going to do the right thing this time, lmao, when she goes to court on Oct. 22. Whine all you want, but it has always been this way AND ALWAYS WILL!
Ricky, the alleged probation violation WAS PROVEN. It came in the form of a failed drug test and Lohan's own admission. The only issue before the court now is what to do with her. Judge Schnegg feels favoritism is warranted. That judge should be disbarred.
Thank you, Dave - my response exactly.
It's called enabling. Lohan will always be able to find a judge in the criminal justice system who will give her what she wants .... not what she needs. This judge is not fit to serve. Lindsey needs help or she will die. The way things are going, all I can say "was nice knowing you kid".
I HOPE AND PRAY..... that if this IDIOT gets behind the wheel of a car and has YET ANOTHER accident.... IT WILL BE THE JUDGE'S OR LL's ATTORNY'S family member that she RAMS !!!!!
MAYBE....MAYBE.... THEN THEY WILL DO SOMETHING TO KEEP HER OFF THE STREETS !!!!
There should not have been bail. She should be spending time in jail and rehab. this whole thing is a joke.My boyfriend and i both think so ...He is almost 11year older than me .i met him via military'loves.c'oma nice place for s'ee'king Army, Navy, Mari'nes, Air Force, Police Force and their admires.just love it
The only crime for which Bail can be legally denied is MURDER. Probation Violation is far from murder. She has a right to bail. The judge could have set the bail amount higher, say 5 million. I will agree taht requiring such a menial amount from a celeb is an outrage, but you should not scoff at anyone being given due process granted to them under OUR Constitution
I agree. These stars seam to get away with everything. An ordinary citizen would get the full benifit of the punishment. Give the stars the SAME!!!!!!!! Stop treating them with kid gloves!!!!!
I guess that it is true that the lawyers can judge shop to find one that will rule in their favor. The people of Calif. need to take a long look at this judge and get her kicked off the bench. Sorry but it is not right for one judge to reverse anothers ruling on something like this. Just more thumbing of the nose at the system and those of us that live within the rules. I imagine that the twit and her mom went out and got high/drunk right away..and then of coarse got laid.
Thrilled to learn that your son is doing very well now-and yes,Judge Patricia Schmuck just might be the most reviled woman in the country right now(that is,until Paris Hilton's next asinine publicity stunt).
I'd still do her ankle braclet and all
My son too is an addict for nearly 10 years. It has been a strugle but, to hear your story I feel hope. Much continued success to your son. You must be so proud.
@TamaquaBob: Bail can be denied for numerous reasons. It doesn't always have to do with the severity of crime. Risk of flight, risk to public safety and risk to one's self are all determining factors of whether or not bail is granted.
This whole thing is a sham !!!! the judge and Lindsey Lohan. I wouldn't waste my time on her and don't. Just this time I wanted to be heard, like so many others.
Are you people thick? She was only charged with a MISDEMEANOR, not a felony. ALL misdemeanors are eligible for bail. The judge had no choice. The first judge is the dumb-a*s for denying bail in the first place.
Americans are really tired of this bimbo and her little druggie problems. She's old enough to choose her life; sink or swim.
Lohan's court date isn't until Oct 22. She may have to do 8 mos in jail.
Your son sounds like a useless piece of crap and he probably should have been put to sleep. Lindey is a beautiful young lady and usefull to society. We all enjpy her performing her craft for our pleasure and enjoyment. Lindsey should never have had to post any bond of any kind. She is in the public eye and this could tarnish her reputation. I think i speak for ALL of us when I say.....try to keep your son locked up in the basement or something so he can't further damage our society. He could surely learn a lot from a bright young star like Lindey Lohan. I think we can ALL agree on that.
