Strapped Lindsay Had Trouble Posting $300K Bail

Lindsay Lohan was released from jail after only 12 hours late Friday, however, sources tell me it nearly didn't happen when Judge Patricia Schnegg set bail at a whopping $300,000.

"Lindsay hasn't earned that sort of money in a long time," a family insider tells me. "There was a moment when the family honestly thought Lindsay wasn't going to be released because they didn't have that amount of money available to post bail."

My source tells me it would have been a "tragedy" if, after all her lawyer's hard work, Lindsay would have had to stay locked up just because of family money issues.

In the "good news" department, Lindsay is heading back to a live-in rehab facility outside Los Angeles rehab this week. Voluntarily, I might add. She dominated headlines going into last weekend, when she was taken into custody Friday, denied bail, then granted bail by day's end after Judge Schnegg overturned Judge Elden Fox's ruling.

Is she FINALLY heeding her father's pleas to sober up? In a statement to PopEater on Saturday, Michael said, "Hopefully, she will go into a rehab NOW, to keep her freedom, to show the judge that she is serious and to make the decision that will truly change her life for the better."

So whose fault is it that she doesn't have much green these days?

Lindsay hasn't been earning A-list cash for a long time, but she has continued to live the lifestyle of a major star. When I saw the troubled star recently in New York, she was wearing thousands of dollars in designer clothes and was being chauffeured around in a fancy car, all while staying at one of the city's most expensive hotels.

Many insiders have wondered how she paid for this while working so little in recent years.

"It's not a big secret that Lindsay needs money," a friend of the LiLo tells me. "She makes most of her cash selling stories or photographs to the magazines and tabloids, but that is nowhere near the sort of cash she used to earn as an actress. The real problem is that every penny she earns she spends. She's always buying new clothes and shoes from expensive stores. There's no one in Lindsay's life telling her she can't afford it. It's a problem almost as serious as her drug addiction."

money talk. for people like us, no money, then go to jail. I strongly think she should go to jail.

she's playing the system. she has no intention of stopping drugs. her statement that her constitutional rights were being voilated, ment that she believes that drugs should be legalized.
every time out of court/jail, heads to 'rehab'.

what she needs is a real rehab. no contact with mother/friends.
she is similar to a cult victim and needs deprogramming.

again, she has absolutely no intention of quitting. and her mother is her worst enemy. all the talk about her father. he is at least the only one, every time i see him he is talking about getting her help. her mother was on tv saying she had no drug problem, and it was all propaganda. she is probably on drugs as well, and her social life, livelihood seems to depend on lindsay being 'out'. what would happen if lindsay changed her life, stopped taking drugs, and kicked all the enablers, sycophants out of her life? where would mom be?

Okay Lohan, You have two choices. Most have three but jail as we see is not an option for you. You can keep going like you are and die young. Or take rehab serious. Its your decision. Make up your mind because frankly people are tired of hearing about it.

What part of this do the judges that are letting her out not see??????????? They are not doing her any favors, she obviously has no regard for the the same laws that everyone else has to abide by. She must think she is above the law and she is being treated as though she is. If she had to stay there in a REGULAR jail, not a celebrity jail, and live among the regular population and not be treated differently she might, just might, learn something.

Wake up Lindsey before it's too late! You other actors, why not help this young girl, you directors, give this girl a role in another movie, get her off the drugs, life is short enough. You know . . . . she's NEVER going to change until she experiences the punishment that the rest of us would suffer. She's not that special and why the courts don't have the "guts" to make her pay the price the rest of us would, is beyond me . . .

The law is the law. If you break it, then you have to serve the time that is set by a Judge or Jury. I am sick of this Hollywood Law where if you are some one famous the law does not apply to you. If any one else was caught doing the things she has been doing we would NOT get a slap on the wrist or serve a small fraction of the time.

She definitely needs help and jail time is not the answer unfortunately.
She needs to go to rehab and stay there for a long time and if she fails that then jail time without all the special person priveleges and be treated as we are treated.
The Sheriffs Dept. fails in that regard, because she is a celebrity, exscuse me she is a person with a name that has a problem and treated no different.
Only she can help herself and if she can't then go to prison under 3 strikes program.
