Former 'Bachelor' and 'Dancing With the Stars' contestant Melissa Rycroft has known for a while she'll be a mom, but she's still waiting to learn her baby's sex after receiving conflicting reports from doctors."We got our first report, got all excited and then we went back a few weeks later and it was a conflicting report," Rycroft tells PEOPLE. "We're not sure, hopefully in the next week or two we'll get 100 percent confirmation."
Rycroft's pregnancy, with husband Tye Strickland, was announced at the end of July.
"It was a shock. We weren't even trying. It's such a blessing. Tye wanted kids right away, and I was laughing at him going, 'No, not ready!'" she told Us Weekly.

I don't know what kind of test she's relying on but unless it's an amnio and the results are male, there are no definites. I was told if you have an amnio and the tests say female, it could have picked up one of the mother's cells and read that as the gender. Even visuals with an ultrasound can be read incorrectly. An umbilicle cord could be misinterpreted as a penis. Why not just wait and be surprised..... Pray for healthy, hope for beautiful.

theres not a lot of "good" things in life that are a surprise- so why not be surprised by the gender at the birth? they told my brother it was going to be a girl and at the birth he said I'm not a doctor but that sure as heck isnt a girl! then when you make the announcement that the baby is here, its a big surprise rather than oh we knew itis going to be a boy and his name.I love this , So does My boyfriend .he is almost 11year older than me .i met him via agegapsingl es.c 'om a nice place for seeking age le ss love.which gives you a chance to make your life better and open opportunities for you to meet the attractive young girls and treat you like a king. Maybe you wanna check it out or tell your friends.. Just love it
Who cares, when the baby is born she will know...

Who cares? Just another way to get the attention she seeks.

Who cares... this is not even news. Who is this person and why is she running to the press about this? This happens to thousands of pregnant women daily.

If you don't know who she is, why are you here? Some people have followed her since she was on the Bachelor or Bacheloette whichever and I am sure someone approched her not the other way around. Just because you are not interested doesn't mean nobody else is. Hey and guess what...NEWS FLASH the sun does not revolve around you either.
If she wasn't "ready" why didn't she use protection? Just another bimbo hanging on to her 15 minutes of fame. I bet she's hoping it's half boy half girl so she can get her a reality show....

Daisey, I don’t think you know whom you are talking about. This isn’t the dingbat that had all the babies, and is selling her nursing bra in a garage sale for attention. If you read the whole article Melissa says…"It was a shock. We weren't even trying. It's such a blessing. Tye wanted kids right away, and I was laughing at him going, 'No, not ready!'" If you knew who she was, you would know that she is not a limelight kind of person. Please do not speak of what you do not know!
@Lynn - wow, somebody's too much into her favorite celebrity, isn't she? Quit being so damn defensive.
the doctors said it looks like it has a very large head, with web feet, and feathers along his back, or it could be something she ate.

I just peed myself laughing.
I don't know, but I'm envious of the guy that knocked her up. There's something about that big smile of hers that I find irresistible.

Boy or girl it doesn't make a big difference unless you have your heart set on one or the other. The important thing is that everything is okay. And congrats to Alanis Morrisette. You waited a long time for your dreams of home and family. I am very happy for you.

Well Lynn, I certain don't think the sun revolves around me. That's a pretty ignorant remark. I was checking out the news of the day and came upon this article. Whether or not she is "reality show famous" is not the point. This is simply not news... "I thought I was having a boy last week and this week it's a girl" is not even rag worthy news. So thanks for your reply. I see you must really invest a lot of time and effort into this person as you've been typing your (debatable) little fingers away at people responding negatively to this piece of non-news. Now get on with your day and read the economist.

I love these idiots who act like they personally know the celebutards in question. They would probably take it less personally if somebody insulted their children. SAD!
it's not like all women can take birth control Maybe Ms Rycroft is one of those that can't nor is it 100% effective it can at times fail. nor is ultrasound failproof but it does help diagnose mulitple pregnancies and other defects.
