'Ferris Bueller' Star Jeffrey Jones Pleads Guilty to Sex Offender Registration Charges

Jeffrey Jones has pleaded guilty to charges stemming from a 2003 sex offender case.

Jones, who played Principle Rooney in 'Ferris Bueller's Day Off,' admitted to failing to update his sex offender registration, TMZ reports.

As a result of his plea, he's been sentenced to three years formal probation and 250 hours of community service.

The actor, 64, was ordered in 2003 to register as a sex offender after pleading no contest to a felony charge of inducing a 14-year-old boy to pose for nude photos at his Hollywood Hills home.

According to court records, Jones employed the boy several times, beginning in 2000, and coaxed him to pose in various situations, including with a cowboy hat and as a Native American.

Aside from 'Bueller,' Jones has enjoyed a prosperous career over the past 30-plus years, with substantial roles in 'Amadeus,' 'The Devil's Advocate' and recently the HBO series 'Deadwood.' Prior to his 2003 arrest, he appeared in a number of films by director Tim Burton, including 'Beetlejuice,' 'Ed Wood' and 'Sleepy Hollow.'

How disturbing and despicable of him to take advantage of a child. I just don't understand why he and people like him, Michael Jackson, did things like that. They could get someone their own age. I know it's a power thing or something, but I just don't understand it.

Who edits this crap? Fourth-graders? It doesn't matter that his alleged crime is VILE. Nor does the fact he is in contempt of court by not re-registering as a sex offender!!!! He is STILL insurable in Hollyweird (gag) and his probation will probably be reduced to informal in a matter of months. Only us "little people" have to actually "do our time"

Yes, he broke the law. Taking advantage of a child is a horrible offense. I'm not saying what he did was right or wise, but geeze people, he just took pictures of a boy. Vile yes, but it sure could have been worse. Things are not always bright white or dark black. There are shades of gray. His crime was in the shades of gray area. Yes, wrong but there are far worse crimes against children.

Michael Jackson never had to register. He was given the funeral of a G-D, after he died. It seems that not all sex offenders are created equal. Or held equally accountable.

Hey moron, he didn't "just take pictures of a boy". He pleaded "no contest" to INDUCING a boy to pose for nude pictures. What makes you think he didn't do worse things, to this boy or to others? Logic tells us that whatever he admitted to, he likely did much more. But hey, it's nice to know that you feel such leniency & understanding for pedophiles. I hope you never serve on a jury.
