Quentin Tarantino's editor since his humble 'Reservoir Dogs' beginning, Sally Menke, died on a hike in California. The 56-year-old was found at 2:15 AM on a Beachwood Canyon hiking trail; she had been walking the remote trail with her black Labrador. The LA Times reports that Menke's friends alerted police when she failed to return home from her hike. The search lasted several hours and employed dogs, an LAPD helicopter and patrol officers.
The Times' sources say Menke's body was found at the bottom of a ravine. The cause of death has not been reported, and it is undetermined whether yesterday's heat was a factor. Assistant coroner Ed Winter tells the AP there is no sign of foul play.

If 50 is the new 40 it seems jail is the new rehab...this public is no longer willing to forgive...if Lohan is breaking the law she should go to jail on a sentence that any other repeat offender would be convicted of and spare our kids the BAD PR example!!! Get NEW publicists Lindsay!

Nico we are sad at the tragic loss of her Life . Yet she is gone and we cannot bring her back But when a story mentions she was Hiking with her Dog it is in my opinion as an Animal lover to also ask if the Dod was Alive . Save a Pet it might make you a better Person at Heart .
exactly my thoughts
I went to school and graduated with Sally. She was a kind and loving person.Very smart too. She seem to always be happy in school. It is such a shock for me to find out she is now dead. Tell people that you care about, how much you care about them or love them, so they know....and you know in your heart you have told them so. Because time is short and you never know when your time is up. I will miss her, bless all those that were close to her. I am sorry for your loss.

She did fine work for Tarantino and others. Love QT, hated Kill Bill - awful movie, I turned it off 30 minutes into it.
RIP, Sally.

Too bad she was a great editor. Watch the extra stuff from Q's "DeathProof"; talks about all she did for that movie and how much help she was to Q.
Bye Sally!

They don't know what the cause of death was???? I'm just guessing, but it seems like it was the bottom of the ravine. Unless someone sneaked up on her and her dog and shot them first, or just shoved them over the edge. It seems more like a tragic accident to me. She stumbled or the pathway crumbled and down she went with the poor dog too. Very sad and awful way to go......
