As stars of reality show 'Giuliana & Bill,' Bill and Giuliana Rancic are used to sharing their world with fans. And when they started fertility treatments, specifically IVF treatments, this past spring, they shared that too. But after getting pregnant on the first try, Giuliana suffered a miscarriage at nine weeks--and the couple was devastated.
"Both of us were in shock," Bill, 39, told PEOPLE. "Failure wasn't an option!" Giuliana said she was wrecked by the news. "I said, 'I'm not doing this again. I can't.' I was angry at life and at God," she reveals.
Their reality show, which returns on October 11, will capture the highs of finding out she's pregnant and the lows after the miscarriage. They hope it will help other couples that are struggling with similar issues.

It'll happen when you least expect it, sometimes after you give up, and always when you can't afford it. God bless and good luck to them! They will make great parents!

I know you mean well, but telling someone it will happen when you least expect it.. especially someone who NEEDS IVF or IUI is just silliness.. sure it COULD happen but the odds are not in favor of that. I can't begin to tell you how much it annoys me when people say that to myself and my husband.. knowing that we cannot conceive without IVF. Like I said, people mean well, but unless you've been there you really hae no idea.
I agree with BEE STING. I've suffered 2 miscarriages, at 9 weeks & 17 weeks, & it is devastating. I was mad at God...still am, sometimes. You never fully recover, emotionally...you're never quite the same.

I really like these two hope and pray God blesses them with kids.

You're 36 years old, high risk for miscarriages. Why the shock? Close down the uterus shop and adopt a kid in need.

I don't understand how people can be so judgemental of others they know nothing about. Bill and Guiliana had a tragedy in their lives that is very painful to them and they are sharing in the hope it will help someone else going through the same thing.
It doesn't matter how much money you do or do not have, it is just as painful to lose a baby either way.
As to her age and weight, you know nothing about her health. Just because she's thin does not mean that she's unhealthly or that she doesn't take care of herself, and lots of women have babies in their 30's and 40's.

I was in my 30's and also undergoing infertility treatments when my first pregnancy (twins) ended in miscarriage. One person told me that my unterus was full of blood clots and that the D&C performed afterwards would clean me out and give a new pregnancy a better chance. Well - IT WORKED! I got pregnant about 3 1/2 months later and had a big healthy baby boy. I hope the same thing happens for Giulianna and Bill. They'll be awesome parents.

well her lifetime of having to be pencil thin couldn't have helped unfortunately... you need to be healthy to carry a child and her lifestyle prohibits that.. her choice....

Some people aren't meant to have kids. It has nothing to do with religion. It's biology.

IT'S VERY SAD..HOWEVER, I REALLY DON'T ENJOY HAVING TO HEAR THEM DISCUSS GETTING PG...CAN'T THEY THINK OF ANOTHER SUBJECT FOR A SHOW....THEY ARE NOT THE ONLY PEOPLE WANTING KIDS...WHY WOULD THEY BELIEVE THAT PEOPLE WANT TO HEAR ABOUT THEIR ATTEMPTS AT GETTING PREGNANT...DISCUSS OTHER TOPICS!!.....I CAN'T WATCH ANYMORE...THERE ARE BETTER SHOWS TO WASTE MY TIME WATCHING IN ORDER TO PROVIDE THEM WITH A HUGE "PAYCHECK"...

My husband and I tried for five years to get pregnant. I suffered two miscarriages then I began IVF. We were successful on the first IVF and I gave birth to our son who is now eight and a half years old. Doctors told me that I would not get pregnant again unless I did another IVF. My husband and I believed the doctors, but God proved them wrong. Two and half years later (without IVF) I conceived naturally and delivered a baby girl who is now six years old. Thank God!!! Infertility is painful and can make one feel ashamed. Just keep praying to God, keep believing and trusting in Him, and keep the faith. Read and recite Hebrews 11:1 daily. God bless both of you.

I used to love watching this very interesting couple until last season when Giuliana started whining about having to gain a few pounds in order to conceive, I totally lost interest. I too have gone through IVF and lost my son during the seventh month of pregnancy. I now have an incredible daughter who is the light of my life. If Giuliana can't handle the weight gain and now the IVF procedure she should think about adopting a dog. Parenthood is not for sissies and she isa acting like a spoiled brat. Having a child is a priviledge, not a given and I see now why God choses to suspend that priviledge to some women. I will not be watching this teary eyed, selfish, woman/child whine because life is hard. She thinks that pregnancy is hard she has no idea what parenting is like and should give up the idea all together. Just imagine the first time the baby throws up on her designer clothes or is sick with fever or God forbid the child has a more serious illness. She definitely is not strong enough to mother a child if she can't even endure the trials of pregnancy. Bill unfortunately would make a wonderful father and seemingly knows what an honor it is to be a parent.I can no longer watch him as he deals with a wife who I find incredibly insecure and ignorant about life and its hardships. Good luck Bill, if I were you I'd start looking around for man's best friend to share your time with.

that's not true and like saying after miscarriages the couple should give up and just raise the kids either of them had from a previous relationship/marriage. and Sophia Loren when she had her second son wasn't on bed rest the entire nine months because she found out she was pregnant with him during the filming of Man Of La Mancha so she was only actually on bed rest for 7 1/2 or 8 months. and she's not the only academy award nominee/winner to have 1 or many miscarriages before having healthy children and or after Lana Turner had many miscarriages before and after the birth of her daughter Cheryl because of a blood clotting disorder and Joanne Woodward also miscarried though in her case it's never yet been revealed why infact with her it was 6 weeks before she won the academy award for best actress for the Three Faces Of Eve though she eventually had three healthy daughters

Bless them both..
I hope they will succeed in conceiving if this is truly what they want. The way I see it.. They HAVE trusted in God, who by the way, has given the dr the talent/wisdom/knowledge to help them along. Even the most devout Christian questions God and gets angry at him on occasion.. give them a break.

I see here a lot of ignorant idiots. What this couple went through is a very painful thing. I was very skinny when I had my first child. You don't have to be fat to get pregnant. Have you heard of the menstrual cycle? As long as a woman/girl gets her period, she could get pregnant. In fact, you don't get it unless you've reached a certain weight. Look at Jacky Kennedy, Nancy Reagan, these two were mothers and as thin as bones.

I was angry at God when my mom got cancer and died. I was angry at God when I had to send my children to live away from me because I can't find a job. I asked him why? Why me when I have been a good person, why my mom when she was a good person. We have brains and hearts, and it's only normal to be angry when we believe and follow, and things go sour. Be more understanding.
