R&B Star Bruno Mars Faces Felony Cocaine Charge

Sitting atop the Billboard Hot 100 chart for his hit R&B single "Just the Way You Are," musical wunderkind Bruno Mars has had a lot of things go his way this year.
What's not going his way? The fallout from his surprising Sept. 19 arrest in Las Vegas.
On Friday, the D.A. in Mars' case filed a criminal complaint against him, formally charging the young musician (whose real name is Peter Hernandez) with a felony: possession of a controlled substance.
His record company Elektra had this to say, according to
TMZ: "We congratulate Bruno Mars on his chart-topping success, and provide him with our full love and support."
Still, all the love in the world (even if it's from recent collaborators B.o.B. and Travie McCoy) won't change the consequences Mars faces when he appears in court next month.
If convicted, the 24-year-old born in Hawaii could be sentenced to four years behind bars and a fine of up to $5,000. TMZ points out, however, that with a clean record of no prior arrests, the singer is unlikely to be sent to jail.
So, what happened in Vegas? The
Huffington Post reports that Mars performed at the Wasted Space nightclub at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino before he was suspected by a bathroom attendant of doing drugs in the men's room; a security guard was alerted and Mars, confronted on the spot, allegedly reached into his jeans and handed over a bag containing more than two grams of cocaine.
Taken in for questioning, Mars reportedly asked an officer, "Can I speak to you honestly, sir?" and then confessed that he had acted foolishly and never tried drugs before in his life.
Bruno Mars is scheduled to appear back in court on November 18.

Pity the fool.
I'm sure he thought it was chewing gum.
That is a bunch of crap. Not that I am ok with drug use.
But if I was his lawyer I would ask (no demand) the Paris Hilton
deal. Why should He get a Felony and she gets a Misemeanor???
She was caught with different drugs three times in a month
including the Vegas bust
This is crap and I hope he has a smart lawyer.
Maybe if everyone demands the same treatment Paris, Linsey and the rest of the White Trash so called "stars" get they start holding everyone responsible for their actions
By the way I am a white Man

Liar!
You are ABSOLUTELY 100% right!
Bill Clinton said he smoked pot but didn't inhale.
Mars says he never tried coke before.
Sure, we believe both of them.
At least the idiot could have done it somewhere other than the restroom.

I agree with you jim, I don't condone drugs but if your going to do a little bump before your show, just go to your own hotel room for some privacy, thats all.
Great role model for our youth, Lindsay wannabe!

Sorry state in America . Drugs everywhere and nothing is being done about it . Only lip service. Why? Because money talks in America. Anything for a buck . Who cares if our kids get trapped in addiction . You only hear about the Lohans and the Hiltons. But every city in this country has drugs . I tired with all this obcession with money. Who is the richest man in the world. Who has the best house. How much is this and that worth. Who the hell cares? People are hurting with no health care , no jobs and drug addiction . Too hell with these money hungry billionaires who do nothing with their money except brag about it.Poor in character , they make me sick.

I agree with you Arthur. The reason America is in the condition that it is in is because of GREED. Especially greed at the top. If someone could bottle the air, we'd be paying just to breath.
Also, there's a war on crime but the only thing that's emphasized on a daily basis in magazines, newspapers, and the media is money. If you have this you can look like this, if you make this much you can live here, and you can go there. No one wants to show the reality that people in this country are living in because it might put a damper on the filthy rich making and stealing more money. Game shows that cause people to lust for money. Gambling on TV teaching the next generation to lust for money, and possibly leading them into a future of crime for money. Entertainers will do anything on stage and in public for fame and money. The media flaunting the ridiculous salaries of sports players on the front page of newspapers. Meanwhile there are people on Social Security, etc., barely paying there bills and eating. You are right Arthur, this country is in a very sad state because of the lust for money.
Blow..........awesome!
