Catchphrase Alert: 'SNL' Debuts 'Miley Cyrus Show'

New cast members are grabbing the spotlight on 'Saturday Night Live' this season.

As Miley Cyrus (or, rather, Vanessa Bayer impersonating Miley) would say, "Pretty cool!"

Last night's 'SNL' episode, hosted by Bryan Cranston (Emmy-winning star of 'Breaking Bad,' who was a solid team player but hardly dominated the evening's sketches), introduced a new spoof talk show starring everyone's favorite hyper-confident, hyper-upbeat -- okay, just plain hyper -- teen celebrity, Miley Cyrus.

What was actually "pretty cool" was how Bayer captured the raspy-voiced, wide-eyed Disney star's "over it" attitude about her dad, and her skewed self-image about her acting talent compared to, say, Johnny Depp. Fellow 'SNL' newbie Paul Brittain, meanwhile, nailed his Depp impersonation as a guest on 'The Miley Cyrus Show.'

The new cast was awful. They should fit in well. The whole show including that " thing " of a musical guest was just as bad. Same difference!

Sorry Pat, the Miley sketch was a real hoot. The new gal was a riot as that annoying Cyrus girl and the guy who did Depp was so good, especially for a newbie. It was actually one of the better shows in a long while...except of course, as you noted, for always over-the-top Kanye West. Besides being self-indulgent and boring, the whole act looked dubbed to me. Someone make him go away, like to Taiwan maybe?

I thought the new cast was really good. Bryan Cranston was good to. I liked Kanye West performance. It was creative. I think you decided to hate Kanye West before he ever performed. Wonder why you even tuned in.

Congratulations on the "Miley" spoof! I thought the new SNL actress portrayed Miley "exactly!!" It was one of the BEST sketches of the show! Great job!

The fact that the SNL actress did such a good job portraying Miley is what had me turning the darn thing off after (literally!) 46 seconds! I couldn't STAND listening anymore. I used to think Miley was really cute and sweet but not anymore. Now I think she's just a tacky loud-mouthed Britney/Madonna wannabe! What a waste!

Cudos to the SNL actress for her well-done, albeit totally obnoxious, portrayal. She earned THAT paycheck!

I watch SNL every weeknight and I have to say that was one of the WORST shows ever. I'll have to rethink if I'm going to watch this lame show again. HATED the musical guest, what a joke, the news update was unfunny as well as pretty much all their skits last night, the Miley one included. Guess I'll do something more valuable with my time than watching this garbage anymore. I don't like the new SNL players, they are forgetful.

The Miley skit was pretty funny but the game show skit may have gone overboard. The news IS getting tired. West was his usual 'who the hell cares what you have to say' self. The whole show should drop to one hour and we'd see an improvement.

Anyway, I don't always get around to watching SNL but this clip put a smile on my face. It was pretty funny and she did a great job impersonating Miley. Brittain also did a descent job as Johnny Depp.

I think she did a pretty decent portrayal of Miley. I was more impressed with last week's Will Smith impersonation by one of the newbies. I thought he was great. I fast forwarded through Kanye. I couldn't believe he actually crowned himself. I saw that as I was fast forwarding and I was like oh my gosh, really? That was probably the funniest part of that episode.

I loved the Miley voice-was actually laughing during the sketch. I liked the guy who played Billy Ray (Miley's dad) also.

The Miley sketch was my favourite of the whole show! The impersonation was dead on & hilarious. People need to STFU about how SNL isn't "funny" anymore. Yeah, it may not be as good as it was 100 years ago, so then don't watch it. It's the new generation, so if you wanna live in the past go buy the SNL dvds with all the seasons from the dark ages.

Loved the Miley spoof! It was the best part of the entire show! The newbie captured Miley's voice perfectly, and her mannerisms matched the singer's exactly! Even the wardrobe was spot-on! And it was also nice that for once, the young starlet was not negatively portrayed.

I sure hope SNL has this skit on as part of it's regular rotation! I'll defenitley be watching just to see!

SNL is terrible has been for years..i try to watch it sometimes but the writers are god damn awful and it pisses me off that the whole cast just accepts the jokes they write and go with it.. if i was acting i would be like this is not funny..every single skit is pathetic and terribly unfunny...what is the crowd smokin? they laugh at anything..and kanye should i toast to douchebags

It was a great Miley impersonation, except they forgot to have her say "you know" in every other breath like she usually does.
