Lisa Rinna Undergoes Lip Reduction Surgery

Lisa Rinna's plumped-up lips are infamous, but the 47-year-old actress decided it was time to surgically reduce the size of her puckers. "My lips started to define who I am," Rinna tells PEOPLE. "That bothered me."

Last year, she confessed to having her puckers injected with silicone in 1986 but was surprised by the lack of support from the public. "I took a big hit for being honest. It gave everyone online permission to lambaste me. It hurt my feelings," she reveals.

The surgery was a success for Rinna who claims her lips no longer feel "bumpy and uneven." The actress says her mouth is still swollen from the procedure. It will require six months to heal fully. "It's a work in progress, but I feel fantastic."

"My lip has no lumps! It's smooth," she adds. "It doesn't matter what other people think. I did it for myself."

Rinna will star on TVLand's upcoming reality 'Harry Loves Lisa,' with husband Harry Hamlin.

her lips were downright ugly, as if she'd been punched in the mouth more than once. she always looked strange. ugh

I guess I don't understand the mixed information she puts out. She said she was glad to have done it since it made her who she is. Now, she says the reverse. But, really... Did she think no one thought she had anything done to them?

Just what IS Lisa RInna SUPPOSED to be talented AT? etting plastic surgery seems to be her biggest talent...the statement "...I did it fo myself.." Baloney, she did it for the publicity for the new reality show she and Hamlin (another no talent) are doing...her lips were freakish...she'll get a LOT more positive feedback for the show having gotten rid of them.

I looked forward to seeing their new show last night. I have always liked them both....but I found it very boring and left about 1/2 way through the show. What did everyone think?

I don't know much about silicone injections, but should something that was done in 1986 look as if it was done yesterday? Did she continue to do it to keep them up? And now, she's reducing them for the sake of a reality show?

no not at all because the reality show is prolly done already.

She didn't need to keep having injections to keep them looking like that...silicone is forever. It's also quite toxic, which is why they don't inject it anymore. Nowadays they mostly use collagen, which breaks down and needs to be replaced every three months or so.

She had SILICONE....not Botox. Silicone is permanent. Now if Meg Ryan would tone down her lips she would be pretty again. Why do we need another stupid reality TV show??? No good writers around these days?

This woman is just one of a galaxy of entertainers who cut, carve and inject themselves to morph into a "fashionable" shape. I have only seen this woman a couple of times and thought she looked like a blowfish! The rest of her has had work; a pity as she has a heck of a personality and can act; she does not need to self mutilate.

Putting silicone anyplace in the body is stupid and dangerous. That is why they stoped using it as breast implants years ago. I hope that they got it all out and it did not migrate to other parts of her body to cause further problems.
