Lisa Rinna Undergoes Lip Reduction Surgery

Lisa Rinna's plumped-up lips are infamous, but the 47-year-old actress decided it was time to surgically reduce the size of her puckers. "My lips started to define who I am," Rinna tells PEOPLE. "That bothered me."

Last year, she confessed to having her puckers injected with silicone in 1986 but was surprised by the lack of support from the public. "I took a big hit for being honest. It gave everyone online permission to lambaste me. It hurt my feelings," she reveals.

The surgery was a success for Rinna who claims her lips no longer feel "bumpy and uneven." The actress says her mouth is still swollen from the procedure. It will require six months to heal fully. "It's a work in progress, but I feel fantastic."

"My lip has no lumps! It's smooth," she adds. "It doesn't matter what other people think. I did it for myself."

Rinna will star on TVLand's upcoming reality 'Harry Loves Lisa,' with husband Harry Hamlin.

She has the right to do whatever she wants to do with her mouth and her entire body. However, who in their right mind wants "TROUT MOUTH"?

I remember when Lisa was on Day's of Our Lives, and back then she had a good set of lips. They to me still were on the plumper side I mean more than the regular full lipped woman. So I couldn't in imagine her even wanting to have anything done to her lips at all. Me, myself have a pretty good set of full lips, and I'm not against a little somethin here and there to keep yourself looking fresh and keeping yourself feeling good, because that's what it all really boils down to when you're getting anything "done" to yourself any type of Botox & Fillers or Sugery.
You're suppose to be doing whatever it is you wanna do to yourself as long as it's for you and not because someone is making you in any way. For example any type of remarks toward you or have pointed something out that you all ready know is there and had to just say something about it. I've learned those are the one how are what your mother always said; JELIOUS that's right green with envy!!! Again I know for myself, my own family members have said " I would love for you to get that bump off your nose". BTW I did go under the knife when I was way to young and because of that my body kept growing ( I was about 13-14 at the time) I underwent a nose surgery do to being hit in the face by a golf club which my nose & lip got the worst of it 120 sticked just on the out side of my face. So now I understand why my mother sort after a plastic surgeon, because I really needed to have a recontructive suergery. I'll never forget it, it was 8 hours , I needed 2 blood transfushion, and finally when I woke I looked like someone beat the sh** outta me with the big black eyes and swollen face, and packing that went all the way down my throat ( which was pulled out in office post op and the packing was literally 6-7 inches long, so while they pulled it out I was literally chocking / gagging on this gause packing they packed in both nostrils ). Lets just say it was the worst thing I ever had to go through in my live other than having my child ( I mean the pain after my lil one I actually got something good for all that). I had that very same surgery done again, since I had to be in sergery for 8 hours the plastic surgeon didn't want to do anything thing else because I did loss a lot of blood and had a load of bone fragments he had to pick outta the back of my throat which happen to be impeded with anyone's knowledge. So I went through w/ that second surgery because I just don't give up half way and what would I have looked like.
Anyway I don't blame my mother for what she did, she was a worried mother who was there when her child got a golf club smashed into her face.(SH** now I'm thinking of what I would do) I mean if it was done a bit harder I would have been dead, my bones would have went straight up into my brain. So, no I don't blame my mother at all. The only thing I wish that would have been done differently was the time it was done. Basically I would have wanted to wait till I was 18 the normal age a young woman stops growing, because after all that time,pain,blood and tears I still have a F***ing bump and I'm old enough were I can pay to have it fixed myself !!! LOL
So all I'm trying to say is if you're going to get anything "done" to yourself , at the very least WAIT. WAIT till you YOURSELF and no one else but YOU feels good about it and (of course) wants it done, WAIT to find the very BEST doctor there for YOU and THAT YOU like too, WAIT and MAKE SURE YOU and only YOU REALLY REALLY need to have this done, and WAIT look in a mirror and take that millionth look to make sure you really want it.
FINALLY, REMEMBER SOMETIMES MORE IS JUST THAT, MORE!!!

I always thought she was an attractive woman and shook my head when she overly inflated and distorted her lips like this. I think plastic surgery can be wonderful, in moderation with the right touch. Healthy eating and aerobic exercise are still the best way to keep your looks and age well.

I agree she used to be pretty and she messed herself up big time!

Hope the lips turn out well for her. Wish these people would disclose who they went to for the surgery though. Would love to know who Kim K went to for her nose job, that is excellent work a 5 star rhinoplasty.

I have a question. Why is it anybody's business what Lisa does to herself to make herself feel better about herself? It's too bad she feels the need to go through surgery to appease others. Lisa, you're gorgeous the way you are, do what YOU want to do. The "haters" are not worth listening to.
