Ozzy Osbourne Furious at Anti-Gay Church

Ozzy Osbourne is bearing down on the infamous Westboro Baptist Church for using his song 'Crazy Train' during protests of gays in the military, E! Online reports.

After the small church used his 1980 hit at a demonstration on Thursday at the U.S. Supreme Court, the Prince of Darkness couldn't hold his tongue any longer.

"I'm sickened and disgusted by the use of 'Crazy Train' to promote messages of hate and evil by a 'church,'" Ozzy said in a statement.

The Kansas-based church was in Washington because the Supreme Court is set to review a ruling that awarded $5 million to the family of Lance Cpl. Matthew Snyder, whose funeral Westboro protested. The church appealed, and now it's going to the high court.

At this week's protests, church members turned Ozzy's song into a hate-mongering chant: "You're going straight to hell on your crazy train."

Of course, the song doesn't contain such lyrics. Instead, the metal hit is a plea for tolerance and understanding. The first line:

Crazy, but that's how it goes
Millions of people living as foes
Maybe it's not too late
To learn how to love
And forget how to hate

Eat another bat and you'll be ok. Westboro is a bunch of idiots but Ozzy has done some pretty revolting things also. The overwhelming religious institutes in America with the exception of the Muslim faith are charitable to all nationalities and people.

Those people from the Westboro Baptist Church ARE NOT religious! They are hate-mongering, self-righteous, bible thumpers. They have shown up at funerals for soldiers who have died defending this country, calling them vile names and rejoicing at their deaths. Ozzy Osbourne should sue them ROYALLY and put them and their church out of business!

They also used "We Are the World" and changed the lyrics to preach hate. Can't they be sued for this crap? If so, you would think they would know better, as they are a family of attorneys. Crazy.

Westboro called their protesting soldier funerals "the god smack tour" I know another band that's gonna be pissed. Way to go Ozzy. Sue them for every thing they have so this crap might end. they tried to protest the miners that died here in West Virginia.

It is my hope that people don't see churches like this Baptist church as the face of all Christianity. There is a better way to go about protesting, like teaching on a one-on-one basis. What they did had a shotgun effect, wherever the ball bearings hit is where they aim. This isn't about organized religion. This is about an ineffective, non-costeffective, and paralyzing evangelistic effort. I am a preacher in southern California for the churches of Christ and no one I know would support an effort such as the one put on by this "Baptist" "church".

I feel sorry for any preacher, who is in it for the money, or to teach their members to dislike anyone.
A real preacher would never do this to anyone. A real Christain wouldnt turn their backs on anyone, ever.
This is ONE church. Lets not all think that a Christain thinks as this preacher does. This preacher lost all of his bibles or somethig, the guy is not right. God loves EVERYONE.
Lets not be like this man, and clump all churches into one.
One bad apple dont spoil the whole bunch.
