Kelsey Grammer Reveals Girlfriend's Recent Miscarriage

In August, Kelsey Grammer, 55, began stepping out with a new 29-year-old girlfriend, Kayte Walsh, amid speculation that she was pregnant. The two soon confirmed that they were indeed expecting a baby.

It turns out the couple have recently been coping with sad news about the pregnancy. Today, Grammer and Walsh revealed in a statement to PEOPLE:

"We lost our unborn child about six weeks ago....We would like to thank all of those who expressed kindness and concern but we needed a little time to heal, time to find some solace before we publicly acknowledged our loss."

Last month, the actor -- currently starring in the Tony-winning revival of 'La Cage Aux Folles' on Broadway -- confirmed that he and Walsh, a British flight attendant, were apartment hunting in New York. "We are in love," he said.

Grammer's wife of 13 years, Camille Donatacci, filed divorce papers earlier this summer, citing irreconcilable differences. She is raising two children with the Emmy winner, who also has two other children from previous relationships.

BIRTH CONTROL folks...otherwise it's just some gold digger looking for a meal ticket in the form of a child! But obviously Kelsey and so many others (Mel Gibson for instance) can't sem to figure that out!

losing a child is always devastating but especially before their even born. parents get attached to their children so quickly that something like this can lead to the couple never trying to conceive again like Ali Macgraw and Steve Macqueen granted Kayte isn't Ali's age Ali was in her late 30's when she miscarried. Kayte is closer to Joanne Woodward's age when she miscarried though Kelsey and Kayte aren't married and Woodward actually miscarried on her & Paul Newman's honeymoon though they eventually had 3 daughters

OK Kelsey, this is God's way of saying you don't get to ignore any more children. As for Kelsey's mistress, recognize the signs, girl, and walk away. Kelsey has a very bad track record with relationships (and substance abuse). We all know that in order to judge a person in the present, you must look at their past.

Again would these older men (who should/are grandfathers) stop having babies because they marry someone 25 years younger than themselves. They do it just to please the girlfriend or wife who wants "her" kids. I don't care whether they are rich or poor
when your over 50 its time to stop having children and be a responsible person - not marrying someone who is young enought to be your own daughter.

I have always enjoyed Kelsey Grammer's performance as Frazier on Cheers and his own show Frazier. He is an extremely talented actor and has a distinctively droll sense of humor. As an actor, he deserves every award and all the praise he is given.

As a man of character, however, I no longer think he is a very loyal or dedicated lover or husband. It appears he gets bored with his partner after time goes by and needs a younger, prettier version as he did when he left his 1st wife for Camille.

Having four children does not seem to be the focal point of his relationships. At 55 he seems to be selfishly having one mid-life crisis after another.

Sadly I, for one, have finally lost all respect and admiration for a man who puts his physical urges above his responsibility to his wife and children.

Now he is once again with a 29 year old blond beauty, whom he impregnated but she has since miscarried their child. Was this a sign telling Kelsey he is not fit to father another child? He will eventually tire of this one too........and on and on it will go.

Kelsey Grammer YOU have disappointed many of your fans, hurt and betrayed your ex-wives and children and made a fool of yourself with the public. As they say "act your age, not your shoe size"
