Parents Up in Arms Over New Miley Cyrus Video

Miley Cyrus is at it again.

The 17-year-old teen queen, known for creating her share of sexual controversies, has angered the Parents Television Council with her new video, 'Who Owns My Heart,' TMZ reports.

"It is unfortunate that she would participate in such a sexualized video like this one," Tim Winter, the president of PTC, told TMZ.

"It sends messages to her fan base that are diametrically opposed to everything she has done up to this point. Miley built her fame and fortune entirely on the backs of young girls, and it saddens us that she seems so eager to distance herself from that fan base so rapidly," Winter added.

In the vid for her European-style single, Cyrus writhes around on a bed, walks around in her underwear and dirty dances among other scandalous actions. Watch

The 'Hannah Montana' star must be quite at home making people upset with her image.

Miley posed for Vanity Fair wearing just a sheet, showing off her bare back when she was just 15.

Right before the provocative photo shoot with Annie Leibovitz in Vanity Fair, pics of her posing suggestively with her underwear showing also leaked on the Internet, for which she later apologized.

But it didn't stop there. At the age of 16, she dated Justin Gaston, who was 20 at the time. (She recently split from her latest boyfriend, Liam Hemsworth, also 20.)

Furthermore, her most recent film, the yet-to-be released 'LOL: Laughing at Loud,' features the singer-actress in a role where she reportedly loses her virginity, smokes pot, gets wasted, kisses two girlfriends on the lips and flashes her lady parts.

Cut Miley some slack. Does anyone remember Brooke Shields' controversial role in "Pretty Baby", where she did a nude scene in a body stocking? And she grew into a beautiful, talented actress! Miley doesn't have a drug problem, and isn't shaving her head!

That's right. Miley didn't invent sexy. And Brooke Shields plays Miley's deceased Mom on Hannah Montana via flashbacks, dreams and old videos. A lot of the older stars did more sexy stuff than Miley and no ones dissing them.

Jeb, how old are you? Yes there was controversy over Brook Shield in the role of "Pretty Baby" and "Blue Lagoon". But all of Brook Shields' movies were not about sexual content.

There's nothing wrong with this video. What is wrong is all the self righteous people out there critizing Myley Cyrus. Seriuosly she is growing up, if you need a role model for your kids, you be their role model. Why leave it to these kids that are on TV or movies?

Ok...i am all for 'art' and 'expressing yourself' but i'm pretty sure that most parents would be shocked to see their 17 yr old gyrating against everything around her and rolling around on satin sheet in her panties while singing 'keep provoking me, keep roping me like a rodeo'...pretty sure most parents of the 17 yrs old i know would be upset to see that...i'm 31 yrs old and that creeps me out to watch it...why don't she just get naked and have sex while she is at on screen...hello?

I looked at your profile and you seem like a bitter old maid. UR jealous of a beautiful, strong and successful woman like Miley. U have turned into a nasty pervert. Miley isn't doing anything wrong in that video, but U make dancing equal to having sex which is from the dark ages. Miley was covered and it wasn't porn, so grow up!

JgleJne is allowed to have opinions, too. I see posts from 'loveyouhotmiley' everywhere on here, we already know where you stand on this topic. Calling JgleJne a "bitter old maid" is just showing how bitter you are. The news article is discussing how parents are upset over this video, so believe it or not, people are probably going to post negative things about the video. Calling people "nasty perverts" is not exactly mature, so you grow up.

Uhm...that video was really ackward. Don't worry, i don't think young girls will want to immulate someone having a seizure on the dace floor. That was terrible. i'm not sure if i should laugh. i just kinda want to forget i watched it.

Seriously, if parents don't want their children watching Miley Cyrus then TURN THE TELEVISION OFF!! Block it on your remotes.. Whats the big deal? She's gonna grow up and she's gotta keep up with the way she knows how to make money. That is what the entertainment industry as all about. No one said its pretty and in fact every one knows its about sex alcohol and drugs.... One or the other is whats going to sell in that industry. Parents can't get angry... If you don't want to support her you don't and are not forced too..
no ones making a big deal about Venessa Hudgens who was younger than Miley and had naked pix sent to a boyfriend who leaked those.. shes still on Disney and one is saying anything... Dakota Fanning is in a movie where she is a druggie rock star and kissing Kristen Stewart... and everyone still praises the likes of of Twilight and love Dakota ..Get over it and dont support her if you dont want to ..

I did not see any thing wrong with that video I enjoyed it actually. So what if she is in her under ware she is done on the disney channel and needs to keep her career current.

First, she is a teenager who is under great stress to stay that sweet and innocent 12 year old. She is growing up, Get over it parents. I am a parent of girls who love her as Hannah not Miley. I personally like her as she is. I was young once, who smoked pot, had sex and it was called growing up.
