Christina Aguilera & Jordan Bratman Split

Christina Aguilera and her husband, music executive Jordan Bratman, have split, according to Us Weekly. A source close to Aguilera tells the mag the couple "have been separated for a few months."

A source close to the Bratman family has confirmed the split to PopEater.

Aguilera and Bratman met in 2002 and married in a lavish ceremony in 2005. The pair have not yet filed for divorce but "are now living apart, and they will see how that goes."

"They were very much in love, but over the last six months, it became clear they were more like friends than husband and wife," the source explains.

They remain united in their commitment to their son, Max, 2. "Although Jordan and I are separated, our commitment to our son Max remains as strong as ever," the singer tells PEOPLE in a statement.

Aguilera has been busy in the studio completing work on the soundtrack for her film debut, 'Burlesque,' which is due in theaters Nov. 24. She has reportedly been bringing Max to the studio with her.

During a chat with E! News in September, Aguilera opened up about her private life with Bratman. During the emotional interview, the 'Dirrty' singer discussed how she met Bratman and what he meant to her.

"I grew up not really having any sort of male perspective or role model and Jordan just continuously makes me fall deeper and deeper in love with him everyday," she said. "He just exudes such love and is such a great father to Max that it makes me the happiest woman alive and I am lucky to have him."

i don't blame showbiz alone, also to blame is our throwaway society... xtina says that over the last few months they seemed more like friends - well, marriage is like that sometimes (especially when you have a young child and demanding career)... i'm not advocating staying in a loveless marriage, but if that's all that's wrong, there is every possibility that they're simply going through a dull patch and that neither is making an effort to bring back the romance... people forget that all relationships take work... i wish them well

What is it with these famous couples? Why are they totally unable to keep a marriage together, especially when there's children involved? Are they just too self-centered or unrealistic about the real world? What sad examples they are for their young fans. Christina Aguilera seems level-headed and responsible. Being divorced at such a young age -- she's headed for one failed marriage after another. Incidentally, 70% of marriages do not end in divorce, as one poster said. Don't trust what the mainstream media say.

They said that they felt more like friends than man and wife for the last few months. That's how it is sometimes. That's what a LONG-TERM relationship is like. It ebbs and flows. You can't stay in that "crazy in love" state continuously. It wears you out. The basic friendship is what keeps you together. Of course, they probably aren't telling us everything. Nor do we need to know everything.

Being married for almost 34 years now and having five kids...people do not seem to understand the dynamics of marriage. They want it to always be the honeymoon that never ends and expect those same feelings to always be there when that is almost impossible. Just every day things changes a marriage. There are phases we all go through as well..especially as we age. So it is sad to see this and read what was said. The article said they were more like friends then husband and wife. Well, most married folk are friends with their spouse so that statement makes no sense to me anyhow. I just think things caught up with them...and I am not gonna judge or make judgements on what went wrong coz we just have no clue about them or their private lives. I just think it is sad how everyone turns to divorce instead of working on their marriage. There are ups and downs and good times and bad times in all marriages. There is no fairy tale marriage..that is in story books.

Rich celebrities don't need to work on their marriages when they get bored. They meet so many attractive, interesting people every day that it is easier to just start over when it is convenient for them. They have the money, so why not?
Unless they are in an abusive relationship, it is just wrong not to try to stay together when you have kids.
It is all in their upbringing. If they wanted to put their kids first, they would. Some do, but many don't.
It's as simple as that.
