Melissa Etheridge's Ex-Wife Claims She's Too Broke to Feed Their Kids

Melissa Etheridge's ex-wife Tammy Lynn Michaels has exhibited a long, bitter streak since the couple ended their nine-year relationship in April. Over the weekend, Tammy's blog featured a post titled "Just a Cornucopia of Thoughts," railing against her famous ex.

"Her lawyer lies about / me using the kids as pawns," Tammy, 35, writes in a long poem ruminating over the personal and monetary difficulties Etheridge, 49, is reportedly putting her through.

Most notable is the claim Etheridge hasn't supported her ex and their almost-4-year-old twins with enough money to eat -- "when i went to get cash / just last week / for the three of us to eat / nothing," Michaels wrote, later saying, "I might never trust another soul again."

Michaels is currently fighting for custody of the twins, Johnnie and Miller. She carried the twins to term after being impregnated by an anonymous sperm donor. In addition to requesting full custody, Michaels is also petitioning Etheridge for spousal support.

Etheridge's attorney, Neal Hersh, told PEOPLE in July: "[Tammy] is being completely supported by Melissa and has been since they separated. She's being well-provided for and then some, as are the children, which are Melissa's first priority."

As if all heterosexual marriages work out wonderfully. Kids can get messed up in those too.

Oh, yeah, callie...like the article specifically mentioned the sex of the kids, and with names like "Johnnie and Miller" it is inferred that the children are male...get a grip/life.

@ sins: My point is that one of the arguments in favor of homosexual marriage is that it would be "way more stable" due to the careful consideration of partners...to which I say IMPOSSIBLE! Pure human nature negates that, and this fiasco is given proof that a homosexual marriage has as little hope of lasting as a heterosexual one does. And, since the adoptions/child rearing continue, more young lives are torn down the middle. Divorce hurts the kids, period. And, I'm fairly certain that the custodial parent in this case is not withholding her feelings about her ex, and is exposing the kids to that, just like a bitter ex in a hetero divorce.

All for money, all for her to sit on her @@ and do nothing.
I hope Melissa sees to it, that tammy walks away with nothing.
It sounds to me, that tammy will do, or say about anything for a buck.

This is all about money. Don't need cash for lunch -- go home and cook. Buy cheaper 'birthday decor'. You don't have to live the typical Hollywood crap life where you spend ten tons of money on a toddler's birthday party. Adjust your spending to the amount you are recieving and you will do much better. you cannot live the life of a married person when you are single. same goes financially. suck it up.

Melissa Etheridge, you exemplify everything that's wrong with men. Your brain is in your penis (er, uh...strap on). You paraded this woman around for nine years for the shock value and to get attention. Claiming that your cancer gave you some sort of spiritual awakening is self-delusional manure. Boo Hoo Hoo. Apparently someone is paying bills. She has internet access which means she has utilities and a place to live. If her children need food perhaps she might consider this....GET A JOB! Good grief! When a couple breaks up, their lifestyle changes (and usually not for the better). That is the risk you take when you break up with your partner. So your options are this. Either work it out, stick it out or GET A JOB.
