Oliver Stone Calls Michael Douglas' Status 'Precarious'

While in Berlin promoting 'Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps,' director Oliver Stone made
Michael Douglas' cancer prognosis appear even more bleak, telling reporters on Tuesday that Douglas is in a "precarious" state,
AP reports.
Academy Award winner Douglas, 66, has been battling throat cancer since a
tumor was discovered in August, and he was unable to join Stone in Europe to promote the movie because he's apparently "suffering."
Last week, it was
reported that Douglas was only about a week away from finishing his chemo treatment, and that "no further treatments were scheduled."
Also last week in the same report, his wife, Catherine Zeta-Jones, told reporters that his outlook was getting better and that "the doctors are so happy."
Despite dealing with obvious pain in mid-September, Douglas had the
strength to attend the New York City premiere for 'Wall Street,' but didn't say a word to reporters.

Dr. Stoney, why so negative?

Oliver Stone is great at fabricating tales that he wants you to believe are based in fact! Maybe he is related to Micheal Moore!
Hush up Oliver! Wishes to Micheal Douglas and his family.

I'd like to know how much money has been donated over the years and where it has all been spent. Does it mostly go to high, overpriced salaries and equipment? It wouldn't surprise me if there was a cure and it was being covered over because cancer and death is big money for the medical industry.

God Bless you Michael. I pray that you recover from this dreaded disease and go on to live a great life with Catherine and your children. You are in my prayers, and I know Jesus will never abandon you. Stay strong in Faith.

At some point the media I would hope respect this man and quit taking pictures of him. Let a dying man die with dignity.

Mr. Stone: Were you really this desperate to get your name in the paper?

I hope Michael Douglas cancer is cured. I was so shocked at the drastic change in his appearance in a short time, from the pictures of him at the premeire of his movie, to the picture of him walking his child to school, just in a couple of weeks, his appearance looked drastically worse. I sure hope he is feeling better soon, and sending the very best warm wishes to Michael Douglas and all his family.

Why all the negativity he didn't say that micheal was dying he was just saying what the family has already put out there only in a different way and besides I am pretty sure he spoke to the family before speaking on micheal's condition. And anyone who knows about stage 4 cancer knows the outlook isn't that great//God Bless the Douglas Family

I just watched "FALLING DOWN" one of Michael Douglas' best movies ever! I hope he recovers. Oliver Stone can bite one! Even Ron Kovic got angry with Stone for taking liberties with the book: "Born On the Fourth of July"

We wish Michael Godspeed..My wife was diagnosed with the same
form of cancer 8 years ago and 43 Radiation and weeks of Chemo 8 years later she is doing great...One thing we noticed her Oncologist insisted she go on a feeding tube to keep nutrition & hydration levels correct , We noticed Mr. Douglas did not takethat path. and it is imperative because swallowing is almost
impossible as you get thru the final stages
godspeed Mr. Douglas

I agree with Chuck. Breast cancer gets all the attention. It kills a lot of women, but just as many survive. There are many more cancers that have almost zero survival rate (pancreatic, brain, ...etc.). Why not put money into fighting all of them?

My Dad found that he had cancer of the larnyx when he was 81 & had his vocal cords removed & breathed from his neck until he died nearly 3 yrs later at age 84. He had to speak with one of those things that make you sound like a robot. When the cancer came back, it came back in his neck & was extremely aggressive as he lived a month. The type of cancer he had did not respond to chemo or radiation. All of thise was caused from 60+ yrs of smoking. I only hope Micheal Douglas' cancer was discovered early enough that he will not have to go thru what my Dad did.

Hasn't Michael Douglas ever heard of Proton Treatment. He should check into it at Loma Linda Hospital.

Hang in there Michael. Wer're rooting for you!
Get lost Oliver Stone. Total idiot.

This just shows that the treatment is working. The cancer cells have to be killed off and good cells are damaged when this happens. He will get worse before he gets better. This is when you hold on to the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost. Through prayer, you will be strengthened and know that God loves you. When Mr. Douglas is feeling better, may he give the credit to our Heavenly Father. May God's Will be done.

Oliver Stone should STFU - he's just pissed that Douglas couldn't (or wouldn't) go over to Europe to promote the movie. Even with cancer Michael Douglas makes Stone look like a geezer, a hitler looking geezer no less. One would think that if he were Mike's friend, he would talk as positively as everyone else about his condition. If he's a friend, I would hate to see his enemy.
