How David Arquette Broke the News to Coco

Aside from revealing details about his sex life and Courteney Cox's peccadilloes, David Arquette also used his interview with Howard Stern on Tuesday to recount the devastating moment he broke the news to the couple's 6-year-old daughter, Coco.

"We went to a beach and had a picnic," Arquette told Stern in the now-infamous interview. "[I] explained to her that we're grownups, and a lot of the time when grownups are growing up, they need to figure out their lives."

He then added that, "Sometimes that takes each other having a little space."

That's when Coco asked if they were getting a divorce. "I said, 'No, We're not getting a divorce, we're just taking some time apart to get to know ourselves better and get to know what we want out of our mate better.'"

Later Tuesday, Arquette and his daughter were spotted on a lunch date in Beverly Hills. In the photos, the actor looks annoyed but Coco sports a wide grin.

If Coco knew what her dad said on the radio just hours before, she may not have been so chipper. In the Stern interview Arquette unloaded intimate details about the breakup, telling listeners the couple hadn't had sex in months and that he has since been with another woman.

"[Courteney] knows she's not f***ing me, and she's like, 'Listen, I want you to be able to do whatever you have to do,'" he said. Arquette also admitted to sleeping with "the girl in the paper" -- meaning waitress Jasmine Waltz -- "once ... maybe twice."

Arquette said he and Cox became sexually distant about a month before they began filming 'Scream 4.' He explained separating in June was her idea and that she had grown fed up with him.

"[She said] 'I don't wanna be your mother anymore.' I appreciated that. I respected it," he told Stern. "I've been going to therapy. I'm trying to grow up. I'm trying to be true to myself. Trying to figure out myself and my world, as is she."

The 'Never Been Kissed' star insisted he never cheated on his wife before they separated in June after 11 years of marriage and that his hopeful they can still patch things up. They released a statement about the breakup on Monday night, saying "We remain best friends and responsible parents to our daughter and we still love each other deeply."
