Friend: Jen Hopes Courteney and David Don't 'Rush Into' Divorce

The shocking news that David Arquette and Courteney Cox have separated after 11 years of marriage took everyone by surprise this week, except Courteney's longtime pal Jennifer Aniston.

"Jen has known for some time that the couple was in trouble but hoped and prayed they would be able to work it out," a friend of the actress tells me. "No one knows how painful divorce is more than Jen and she hopes they don't rush into it without exhausting every possibility to stay together."

Which clearly didn't include a groggy and teary David calling into Howard Stern's radio show yesterday morning and airing the notoriously private couple's dirty laundry in public.

"Telling Howard that they haven't had sex in four months is not the way David is going to win back his wife!" an insider tells me. "What he did on Howard confirmed Cox's biggest complaint about her husband, that he needs to just grow up."

There's been no word yet if Courteney is going to listen to Jen's advice and give the marriage another try, however, friends tell me no matter what Courteney decides to do, Jen will support her.

"Goodness knows Courteney supported Jen during her breakup with Brad Pitt. Now it's Jens turn to be to supportive. After all, isn't that what a friend is for." Oh wait, I get it!

Advice from Anniston, the only advice i would take from her is how to get your ugly face on every magazine cover when your not talented. Never bought anything that showed her on the cover. Retire already, (all 3 of you)

Oh please Courtney do not take any kind of advice from Jennifer. yeah she know what she is doing. Please do not start sleeping around with everyone guy you meet like your friend. Maybe jennifer is the reason they broke up because she hung around them too much.

I think Jen is adore able inside and out unlike Jasy who is creepy. I don't think the couple will make it after his stupid talk with Stern who is the last person anyone should talk to. A man that wines in public and says to much is pretty much a loser.

I have always thought that Courtney Cox is much prettier than Jennifer Aniston. Aniston just doesn't have any natural beauty going for her. I think Cox will find someone else much better tnan Arquette as time goes on. He is the loser here. Poor Jen just can't seem to get it together but I think Cox will.

Courtney Cox also supported her close friend Laura Dern when her marriage to Billy Bob Thornton ended when he left her for who...Angelina Jolie AND fast forward a few years later and Courtney is helping her other BFF Jennifer Aniston through a divorce because her husband left her for who...Angelina Jolie. Anon, wow, do you have everything wrong! Firstly, Dern was NOT married to BBT, only engaged. Secondly, that engagement ended BEFORE BBT married Angelina (per Dern's own publicist), so BBT did NOT leave her for Angelina. Dern however, broke up BBT's first marriage, and also had an affair with Ben Harper who was still with his PREGNANT wife at the time. Dern - 2 times 'homewrecker'. As for Brad/jen, it was proven years ago that no affair happened. In FACT, Jen moved on with Vince Vaughn BEFORE Brad even moved on with Angelina. So, sorry, but you were WRONG on ALL counts.

Exactly, if Aniston stopped following the Cox-arquettes around everywhere all the time, they might have had a moment's peace to work on their marriage. David should have gotten a restraining order against stalker Jen.

I believe Courteney has been humping young studs for a very-very long time. I believe that marriage has been over for years. David seems very broken up by this while CC is going on just like it's business as usual.

Jennifer Aniston is the last person anyone who wants to move on or stay and work it out for God sakes stay away from it.
Maybe if JA had of given them some time for themselves it might of helped.
When CC says go do what you have to do to her hubs right there that's saying it's over b/c Courtney is not hurting for sex when she wants it. Her co-star has been more than happy to 'be there'. Courtney and Brian (ex hub on Cougar) have made up their minds long before DA could get a grasp on the manipulation.
Kind of weird CC and DA were just out for dinner with Howard Stern last week..hmmm what does that tell you????

Sometimes I wonder about jennnifer and courtney. They are up each others butt. Every magazine article always has those two together, and when her and arquette go out or on vacation, jennifer is right there with them. Maybe now she will be happy she has courtney all to herself.
