A Bosnian minister has thrown a wrench in Angelina Jolie's directorial debut by revoking a permit for the actress to shoot in Sarajevo after a paperwork error and heated complaints from women's groups that alleged the film provides a "misleading history" of the conflict that tore the country apart in the early 1990s.The Oscar-winning actress is currently shooting the untitled film in Budapest but is scheduled to move production to Bosnia in a month. Officially, the film has been described as a love story between a Serbian man and a Bosnian woman who meet on the eve of the Bosnian War.
But in Bosnia-Herzegovina, the media has painted the film as the story of a Serbian rapist and his Muslim victim.
"In the film, a victim is really falling in love with her torturer," Bakira Hasecic, president of the Women Victims of War Association, was quoted as saying in Wednesday's Oslobodjenje daily newspaper. The group said the film would be "misleading history" if it were permitted to film there.

Jolie is looking worse every time I see her. She does have man hands and her face looks like an old woman. Another tired old woman that needs to sit home and take care of the tribe. What a phony she is.

I guess you would know....
She was in fact, playing the opposite of yourself. But small-minded idiots like you haven't the logical ability to think.
Bosnia has been the site of some of the worst war crimes since World War II. The Bosnian women were rounded up (sometimes after seeing their male children and husbands murdered), sent off to the rape camps where they were tortured and raped for months. There were reports of girls as young as 7-8 years old being taken to these camps! If they concieved a child, the children were taken away at birth to "be raised Serbian." To this day, these women are trying to forget the horrors of that war. To this day, some of them have no knowledge of the children taken away from them in those camps.
How can you ask these women to forget this? Filming a love story between a Serbian rapist and a Bosnian rape victim is not only pure Hollywood garbage, but an absolute slap in the face for those rape camp survivors. Kudos to the Bosnian government for not selling out.
If you wish to do more research, google Karaman's house. Try to sleep tonight if you can.

I have to say that I am discussed by the thought of such a movie being made. This movie will again portray the Serbs as torturers and violent people of which we are not! Not only that, it will highlight and issue which women all over the world as well as organizations are trying so hard to prevent. I due not see the point of making a movie which main plot is based around a RAPE, what is the point to all this? And if that is the aim of the move (Rape and torture) why are there both sides portrayed? The war which started in the 1990’s effected all ethnic groups not just Bosnians,Croatians. Why cannot anyone make a move which fairly shows what accrued in the Yugoslavian war? And not just once bias side! Make a movie about Vukovar, make a movie were Serbians were the VICTIMS as thousands of Serbs died as well due to Croatian and Bosnian military. Due these man, woman and Children have a voice???
I am saddened by the thought of some one wanting to make such a disgusting and clearly propaganda driven movie and I am glad that the permit was not given as it would be an insult to all of the Countries in ex Yugoslavia.
