A mere two days after announcing she had separated from husband, music executive Jordan Bratman, Christina Aguilera has officially filed for divorce, PEOPLE reports. The singer filed papers in Los Angeles on Tuesday. The couple have been married almost five years.

In the documents, Aguilera cited irreconcilable differences as the reason for the split. According to RadarOnline.com, she asked for joint legal and physical custody of their son Max and that both parties pay their own legal fees. She also requested that all spousal support be terminated.

The papers list September 11, 2010 as the date of separation and also confirm that the couple had a prenuptial agreement. In the prenup, Aguilera specifically requested that the courts deem her "miscellaneous jewelry and other personal effects" as well as her "earnings and accumulations... before marriage, during marriage and from and after the date of separation" as separate property.
