Exclusive: Joy Behar Speaks Out About Walking Off 'The View'

Just hours after Joy Behar and Whoopi Goldberg stormed off the set of 'The View' following several controversial remarks made by guest Bill O'Reilly, I found myself backstage at Behar's hit HLN talk show. Surprisingly, Joy seemed to have little idea about the media storm that was brewing.

"Really, is anyone talking about it? He's an idiot," she told me. "I just couldn't sit there any longer and listen to him."

During O'Reilly's visit to 'The View,' Bill insisted it would be "inappropriate" to have a Muslim place of worship so close to Ground Zero. This prompted Goldberg to ask, "Why is it inappropriate?"

The heated discussion went back and forth, but the blowout came after O'Reilly said, "Muslims killed us on 9/11." Goldberg and Behar attempted to specify that it was an extremist sect within Islam and not the religion itself that attacked the U.S. When O'Reilly continued to argue his point, the enraged hosts walked off the set.

Joy Talks About the Incident on Her HLN Show:

The two women did return to the show and were able to continue their conversation with the FOX News anchor, when the chatter turned to Christine O'Donnell and George W. Bush.

"No one made us go back out," Behar explained. "After he apologized, Whoopi and I walked back out and sat down. I have no regrets."

Now if a German wanted to open a weiner shop next to the Holocost Memorial that would not be a problem.

Robert you and people like you are so ignorant wasting your time with this arguement. You're acting like puppets upon strings with the former "Current Affair" host and that other group of big talkers that led lives of losers that found their fortune in divisiveness and hatred talk.

If you weren't so wild and mad you would know by now that the Mosque was already there. Did Bill tell you that!? The building is being renovated. Did Rust...oops Oxi...opps Rushbo inform you of that!? ....Nah, well it was and is.

And guess what else! Good ole Rupert Murder-Doc of FOX News is one of the down the line financial supporters for same.

Joy Behar and Whoopee Goldberg acted like to school juveniles-they ran out of an adult conversation because they didn't like what Bill O'reilly was saying. Muslim terrorists bombed 2 World-Trade buildings and now they are aiming to build a mosque close by denigrating the death of almost 3,ooo of innocent American lives. What is wrong with Ignoramous Behar and I am surprised at usually reasonable Goldberg? Is there any decency left on the liberal left? They should try living as Muslims.

Joy and Whoopie, Congratulations. ALL people are NOT one thing, regardless of what terrorists of any stripe do to one another or groups of people. I was very, very happy you two took a stand and walked off. I was frightened actually, by the very evil look O'Reilly was giving you. And, Barbara, you needed to stop O'Reilly, ASAP. Never should you have given him any opportunity to act like he was correct. I have to blame you, Barbara for letting him get out of hand -- not Joy and Whoopie. Barbara, if more people had not listened to Hitler, his death camps and hate for so many may not have happened.

The View is apparently, not what I have ever thought it to be.

Seems like they want you to listen to what they have to say but if someone says something different, they just walk off.
If it is their job to listen to both sides and they just get up and walk away, why even have a show?
I have never watched the show myself but my guess is they couldn't understand what Bill was talking about so they had to rush off and call someone else in Hollywood to get the answer.
From what I have been told, both Joy and Whoppi are both nut jobs. This is JMO.

Good for you Bill O'reilly, I agree with your opinion on the tragedy of 9/11. You are one of the few Americans who have a back bone. You spoke up. Joy and Whoopi, these chicks have no back bone. Whatever happened to the America who stands up for its believes. It seems that people like Joy and WHoopi enjoy sitting on the fence and not take an opinion or take a side. DO you think that Muslims sit on a fence? No. They take one side, the muslim side. They don't care whether the whole world is for or against them. Joy and Whoopi don't even know what muslims are and yet they are ready to defend them. Idiots !
