Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar Walk Off 'View' Set While Talking to Bill O'Reilly

Fireworks erupted on the set of 'The View' today when hosts Whoopi Goldberg and Joy Behar left the set during an interview with Bill O'Reilly while discussing the proposed "Ground Zero mosque."
"The mosque down here on 9/11. That's inappropriate," O'Reilly said of the planned Islamic community center being built near the site of the former World Trade Center.
"Sure, they have a right to do it," he continued. "But it's inappropriate because a lot of the 9/11 families who I know, say, 'Look, we don't want that.'"
When Joy, Whoopi and the other ladies expressed their opposition to 'The O'Reilly Factor' star's opinion, he attempted to shut them down.
"Listen to me because you'll learn," he exclaimed, adding that he believes President Obama's numbers are falling because of his unwillingness to comment on "the wisdom of" building the community center.
"You're saying that Americans are not smart enough to recognize that while it is part of our Constitution to say freedom of religion and freedom to worship and there were 70 families who are Muslim who also died in that building. So you're saying that his saying that they have the right to do it and not saying anymore is why his approval ratings have gone down?" Goldberg questioned.
The heated discussion went back and forth, but the blowout came after O'Reilly said "Muslims killed us on 9/11." Goldberg and Behar attempted to specify that it was an extremist sect within Islam and not the religion itself that attacked the U.S. When O'Reilly continued to argue his point, the enraged hosts walked off the set.
Watch:
Barbara Walters then chimed in. "I want to say something to all of you. You have just seen what should not happen. We should be able to have discussions without washing our hands and screaming and walking off stage. I love my colleagues, but that should not have happened."
The two women did return to the show and were able to continue their conversation with the FOX News anchor, when the chatter turned to Christine O'Donnell and George W. Bush.
UPDATE: Just hours after Joy Behar and Whoopi Goldberg stormed off the set following Bill O'Reilly's controversial remarks, PopEater's Rob Shuter found himself backstage at Behar's hit HLN Show where the host seemed to have little idea about the media storm that was brewing.
"Really, is anyone talking about it? He's a idiot," Behar told PE. "I just couldn't sit there any longer and listen to him."
As for Behar and Goldberg heading back out to finish the interview with O'Reilly, Behar added, "No one made us go back out. After he apologized, Whoopi and I walked back out and sat down. I have no regrets."
Tune in tonight to HLN at 9:00 pm tonight to hear what else Behar has to say about the incident.

I don't blame Whoopi and Joy for walking off. Bill O'Reilly needs to get his facts straight and let people get a word in edgewise. He wasn't giving any of those women a chance to say anything because he's so in love with the sound of his own voice. I say bravo! to the two of them walking off.
Joy has TWO shows on which she gets to blather her own stupid opinions and is rarely called out for her ignorance. When she ran into someone with actual intellect, she could not handle the situation and ran away like a little jr. high girl. PATHETIC!!!
I'm glad Barbara called it what it was.
OReilly upsets Two LIBERAL-IDIOTS , so what else is NEW ?? LOL
I think that in this case everyone needs to get over themselves. They are turning this into a pissing contest. People are going to have diffrences of opinion and we need to respect each others opinions, I'm not say we have to agree but we have to respect. I personally am not a fan of Bills but I will sit there and respectfully disagree. I am a fan of Whoopi and Joy but I think they let there opinions get the better of them. This is not a way to solve problem, and in the buisness that all these parties are in they should that not everyone is going to like them or their opinion and they have to be ok with that. As a 18 year old college student I don't agree with some of the things my professors are saying but I respect them enough not to debate it. I think both parties were wrong and that people can be mad all they want but in the end the result will be the result and we can't change that. Let's just stop the fighting.
deb, it's people like you that will cause this "great usa" to tumble in the nearest sea, ocean, whatever. we will not have to worry about other destroying the country. you and your kind have already done it. God is not happy with the world. the last on board will be the first to go, per you all rule.
Political correctness will get lots of Americans killed over the next decade.
I agree. Have respect for the family who lost so much.{Family}
no you need to get over yourself bill wrong for stating is opinoin and he need to know that and most american a nationalist and they need to use it in a good way
They do need to get over themselves. When the going gets tough, the liberals walk away! Sissys!
all of you who are on billo the clown side must have forgotten when there was a group white american that went around terrorizing Black american, are you do remember but now you are fearful of what may happen to you all.
To bad they came back!
Those two idiots should just keep on walking and walking. I want to believe that there are some good Muslims out there but, until I hear them denouncing/condemning the actions the extremists/terrorists I have no sympathy for any of them.
I agree that they need to get over themselves, and should have stayed and TALKED about the issue at hand. When they walked out because they disagreed, it shows they are not the type of hosts who should be on this show. I can not believe that they walked off the job.........
AMEN! I wish they walked off & STAYED off!!!!
Bill O"Wrongly is an egotistical,self centered P.O.S.!
What's to "Get over"? The fact that they are actually level headed about issues? O' Reillys a smuck, period!
Whoopi and Joy need to get a life! How can think it is ok to put a mosque up there. They are truely un American! I'll never give them the time of day again.
so does o'reilly.he's a pompous a__, who thinks he knows everything that's good & right for this country.the only people that know what's right for this country are the people;all the people.not just certain individuals who have a podium or dais they can pontificate from.that also goes for any other so-called talk show people, whether right or left.
