Alicia Keys and husband Swizz Beatz welcomed a son, Egypt Dauode Dean, late Thursday night, reps for the stars confirmed in a statement to PEOPLE. The singer gave birth in New York at St. Luke's Roosevelt Hospital.

New dad Swizz Beatz, whose real name is Kasseem Dean, shared his happiness after the birth, Tweeting, "I'm so thankful for everything I been blessed with in my life wowwwwww!" Fellow R&B singer and friend Mary J. Blige also turned to Twitter to share the good news: "I'm So excited 2 Congratulate my brother @therealswizzz and @Alicia keys on there New, baby, boy!!!!!!!"

This is the pair's first child though Eygpt is "welcomed by Beatz's three other children," the statement said.

Keys and music producer Beatz, 32, married this past summer after announcing their engagement and baby news in May. "Whatever we're blessed with, that baby is being born to blessed parents," he told PEOPLE at the time. "Alicia is definitely one of those great parents-to-be. She's super ready. Super glowing. Super happy."

The couple's wedding took place in Corsica, France, and Deepak Chopra officiated, with the producer's 9-year-old son serving as best man. Many friends and family including Queen Latifah, Tommy Hilfiger, Christian Louboutin and Bono, attended the nuptials.
