Neil Patrick Harris and David Burtka's Twins Are Born
Neil Patrick Harris and longtime partner David Burtka's twins from a surrogate mother were born Tuesday, Oct. 12, NPH reported via
Twitter.
"Babies!!" Harris, 37, wrote. The twins are named Gideon Scott and Harper Grace. "All of us are happy, healthy, tired, and a little pukey."
Harris tweeted in August that he and Burtka, his 35-year-old man of six years, would have children: "So, get this: David and I are expecting twins this fall. We're super excited/nervous/thrilled. Hoping the press can respect our privacy..." he tweeted.
"For over two decades, Americans have followed Neil Patrick Harris' journey from child star to popular leading man. Now, many will look on as he and his partner build a family together," Jarrett Barrios, president of the
Gay & Lesbian Alliance of Defamation (GLAAD) told
PopEater in August. "As more and more loving and committed gay and lesbian couples start families together, it is important to see stories like Neil's that reflect what most fair-minded Americans already know: gay people and our families are no different than them. For many, Neil is the first gay person they've seen come out, fall in love and become a dad, and his story is helping Americans understand that gay people deserve the same opportunity to take care of our families and loved ones."

You're right SU; In the Bible, it says ADAM and EVE; not ADAM and STEVE!!
Yeah, and if you decide to live your life according to the Bible, that is your choice and I wish you happiness. However, it doesn't mean that EVERYONE else in the world has to live by your Bible. These men are not hurting you. You live your life the way you wish, and so will they.
Congrats and good luck to the new daddies!
Neil and David are as qualified as anyuone else to be a parent. And no, su, it's not a sin for two men to "get together." It's a sin to cast judgement.
Seriously, seek help. You really need it.
Sin. try reading a book about Chromazones? Chromazones determine our sexuality and after you learn this, then tell me it is a sin?
I think it is a sin for people who know NOTHING about genes and chrmozones to add an opinion that has NO basis. Get your facts straight before you speak
@Dylan, You might consider learning a thing or two about chromosomes, seeing as how you can't even spell them. Sexuality is not determined in your genes. It's a THEORY, without enough substantial evidence to support it. I don't have a problem with gay people, I just don't agree with their lifestyle. It's not for me, but that doesn't mean they shouldn't be treated equally. But, where I really get irked is when people start blaming their sexuality on their genes. Your sexual preference, is your sexual PREFERENCE. Your preferences, or likes and dislikes, are not regulated in your chromosomes. That's like saying because my father hates the taste of seafood, for example, that my brothers and I wouldn't like the taste either, or might have a "chance" of not liking it. Or, if my mother enjoyed horseback riding as a kid, that I would, too, without any knowledge of her liking it as well. It just would make zero sense. So, there. You've just been shown up by a thirteen-year-old girl.
Anyway, I hope their kids are going to be happy and healthy! They may face teasing as they get older, but their parents are great people and are lucky to have them. :) Just for their sake, they really should have a woman in their lives. Wether it be a close friend, grandmother, or aunt, it's great to have one around. It's never good for any child in general to grow up without a mother or father.
its also a sin to eat shellfish, but they taste great
Congrats to both of you. I am sure you will be kind, and loving parents. And to ZARATHUSTRASMILE - you are a nasty bully. Hate words are not necessary. Thankfully, neither of these children will ever have to know you.

When you step back and think of what these two men do to one another its an abomination and just so horribly wrong on all counts,. distustingly filthy... i cant believe society has sunk so low..
Pathetic and sad, these two innocent babies were born into such perversion, I hate to think what will happen to them in this life.. Gopd help them both.. I hope they dont have to stay with this so called "family" for long... someone please rescue them!!!!
this symbolizes what is wrong with society today....this is your "model" of what an American family should look like ??? this is an absolute joke

An absolute joke? Do you mean like Brittany Spears and her 52-hour "marriage"?
You mean as opposed to mom and dad both working on marriage number 3? Or, dad going to see his second "family". The one he created with his mistress of 10 years? Or how about dad kissing mom goodbye just before he goes out to pick up a gay prostitute because of people like you who would condemn him for being who he really is? That the kind of "model" of the American family you're advocating?
congrats to them and I like the names they chose as well though every time I hear Grace used for a baby girls first or middle name I think of Grace Kelly

So why would a mother give up her children? Was it for money or just convenience?
Reply
Because they were not hers to keep. She did it for two parents who can give them everything they need in life. Who cares which one is the mother or the father. Maybe by the time these babies grow up society will grow up and accept that there is other life styles.Congrats to the happy family!!!!
I would say for the money.....
Because that is what paid surrogates do, for any couple, be they gay, straight, what-have-you. They donate their eggs and rent out their womb so that someone who could not bear a child themselves can have a lovely baby. And, as twins, I wonder if one egg was done by David and one by Neil... that's interesting and sweet. And, having two dads is better than having a deadbeat one, even WITH a great mom.
Wonderful news for the parents. But, if they are "hoping the press can respect their privacy." Then how many hundreds of people were "tweeted" and why is all of this on POPEATER? Too frequently celebrities make this pronouncement and the next thing they are on the cover of People magazine!
