Neil Patrick Harris and David Burtka's Twins Are Born

Neil Patrick Harris and longtime partner David Burtka's twins from a surrogate mother were born Tuesday, Oct. 12, NPH reported via Twitter.

"Babies!!" Harris, 37, wrote. The twins are named Gideon Scott and Harper Grace. "All of us are happy, healthy, tired, and a little pukey."

Harris tweeted in August that he and Burtka, his 35-year-old man of six years, would have children: "So, get this: David and I are expecting twins this fall. We're super excited/nervous/thrilled. Hoping the press can respect our privacy..." he tweeted.

"For over two decades, Americans have followed Neil Patrick Harris' journey from child star to popular leading man. Now, many will look on as he and his partner build a family together," Jarrett Barrios, president of the Gay & Lesbian Alliance of Defamation (GLAAD) told PopEater in August. "As more and more loving and committed gay and lesbian couples start families together, it is important to see stories like Neil's that reflect what most fair-minded Americans already know: gay people and our families are no different than them. For many, Neil is the first gay person they've seen come out, fall in love and become a dad, and his story is helping Americans understand that gay people deserve the same opportunity to take care of our families and loved ones."

Ma peteite, tu es trop bête, too stupid to live. Do you not know that if you do NOT keep your opinions to yourself than everyone will know how stupid, ignorant, unsophisticated and probably undeducated you are. My mother died when I was 15, in 1938. My godmother, who was a lesbian, married my father so that I and my two younger sisters would not grow up without a maman. We all turned out straight, and she was a great parent. Grow up, or tais-toi.

Umm does that mean too that women who can't bear children and Men who cannot produce children should not have the right to adopt or have a surrogate??? You are truely IGNORANT

Why is that, Diane? Who are you to say what is "natural"? How many times do you read about heterosexual women beating, starving their children? If their are kids who need loving parents, it boils down to that. LOVING parents. Stop hating for "God's" sake.

well there are alot of straight people that should not bread and should not even adopt. You act like straigt people make the best parents. Look how many biological fathers molest their daughts. So don't make judgement on the gays. I have not heard too many stories that gays molest their kids like the straigh parents do so do your research.

How exciting. Which one of these guys rear ends did they extract the sperm from for this wonderful family event? It's a shame they can't regulate child production the way they regulate everything else in our lives.

They want kids for the same reason hetro people wants kids. Get over your intolerance and leave them alone. I am a hetro woman who has worked with gay couples for years. I don't see their relationship as any different than hetro. I don't get why people are so hateful. Must be miserable in their own lives to spew such ignorant hate.
