Angelina Jolie Wins Back Approval to Shoot in Bosnia

Last week, Angelina Jolie's directorial debut was barred from shooting in Bosnia after a victims group for women accused the project of providing a "misleading history" of the Bosnian War. Additionally, paperwork permit errors were cited in revoking Jolie's permission to film. But after a government minister gave the script another look, the Bosnian government changed it's mind, Reuters reports.

"I can now start preparations for the shooting, which I had to stop last week," Edin Sarkic an executive involved in the movie said. "It's a big thing for Bosnia that such a mega, mega star is coming to Sarajevo."

An anonymous government minister approved Jolie's project after double-checking her script and shooting locations after the permit was canceled on Oct. 15.

The Oscar-winning actress is currently shooting the untitled film in Budapest but is scheduled to move production to Bosnia in a month. Officially, the film has been described as a love story between a Serbian man and a Bosnian woman who meet on the eve of the Bosnian War.

But in Bosnia-Herzegovina, the media had painted the film as the story of a Serbian rapist and his Muslim victim.

"In the film, a victim is really falling in love with her torturer," Bakira Hasecic, president of the Women Victims of War Association, was quoted as saying in Wednesday's Oslobodjenje daily newspaper. The group said the film would be "misleading history" if it were permitted to film there.

Jolie had disputed this claim, and Sarajevo-based producer Scout Film asserts the film's narrative has nothing to do with the alleged plot and said it was a love story. Jolie had offered to meet with the group.

Actually...gbozian why did you click in and post if you think it's a stunt? Why don't you ignore her? Why do you and the other Aniston fans stalk every post with her and Brad's name attached to it? Just move on with you lives and ignore them instead of stalking them if you really want to hurt them. Truth is no one care about what negative stuff you have to say about Jolie-Pitt.
Angelina has a right to work to help take of her family like any other women. Gbozian you and the other hate monger Aniston fans seem to be the PATHETIC ONES.

Ever notice how there is always some controversy around her starting a film or when it is released? This is her way of getting everyone to pay attention to her. Read Andrew Morton's book about her and you will see what a nut job she is. She learned all this from her Mom. If you think it isn't true, then why didn't Angelina sue Andrew?

Read it, you will really see what a twisted, control freak she is.

Why would ANYONE read Morton's book... The guy's a nitwit.

There is hardly ever any controversy over any of her movies, you lie. There is only on this one, because a tabloid, as usual, lied about her. as to Morton, you clearly are very uneducated and don't actually THINK. Any educated person higher than Junior High knows that TRASHLOID books aren't to be believed. You truly are gullible. He is disgrace his book of 'lies' BOMBED, and he was ran out of town. This is not a "photo-op" for Angelina Jolie. Unlike the "nobodies" you are referring to, Jolie does not NEED a photo-op. Everybody knows who she is. She wanted to do this film because she is a humanitarian and felt the need to speak out for those women in the only way that she can...a movie.

I have no idea what being a pharmacist has to do with ANYTHING! I would like to think that ALL of us pay attention to detail in ALL of the work we do... I am an Electrician/Electronics Technician. It is an extrememly detail oriented profession. Many people can die if my work is not done correctly. THAT amount of detail is not just exclusive to MY job, (or YOURS). What does your profession have to do with Jolie and your analysis of her? You are not in her league so don't pretend to know anything about it. You are not an actor or director, and obviously are not a humanitarian or you wouldn't believe in dispensing drugs that many don't need.

Popeater, if you're going to write articles, your writers should learn more about punctuation! In the first paragraph you wrote "it's mind". There should be no apostrophe there! It's means 'it is' and is not possessive! Get it right if you're going to run with the big dogs.
