Bethenny Frankel took to the cover of PEOPLE magazine this summer, claiming "I never had a true childhood." But photos obtained by RadarOnline.com seem to tell a different story. The series of more than 30 pictures show the 'Real Housewives of New York City' star as a baby, child and teenager, smiling, eating and sporting a variety of hairstyles.
"She doesn't miss the chance to interject her terrible childhood in her show," Bethenny's mother, Bernadette Birk, tells Radar. But, Birk adds, "there were so many wonderful times" during Bethenny's upbringing.

I had a very unpleasant childhood and to this day my mother would say, "you had money, vacations, and new clothes so what was the problem?" Some people just don't get it. I believe Bethenny 100%...what her mother felt happened and what Bethenny actually felt are obviously two very different things.

The problem seems to be ungrateful child...
Bethenny has never claimed to have been held in a torture chamber her entire life, but I'm sure her view of a unhappy childhood is true. She may have had "things" but she didn't have stability and love..at least that's my take !
Frankel announced at the end of August she was finished with 'Real Housewives,' telling Us Weekly, "Last season was scary and painful. It took all of the joy out of it. My gut's saying not to be part of this cast."I love this , So does My boyfriend .he is almost 11year older than me .i met him via age'lessmate.c'om a nice place for seeking age le ss love.which gives you a chance to make your life better and open opportunities for you to meet the attractive young girls and treat you like a king. Maybe you wanna check it out or tell your friends..
Oh who CARES?! God, get a real job will you?!

Just because her mother can produce a few photos doesn't make Bethenny a liar. Absurd. How disgusting is this mother to even release these pictures.

I guess skankiness is something you develop early.
a few smiling pics doesn't make a case for a happy childhood. ever watch intervention? they always have smiling kid pic only to reveal they were molested, cutting themselves, etc.
my mom sucked and if she has pics of me smiling, it had very little to do with her.

just because you have fancy pictures doesn't mean you had a wonderful childhood. I'm sure it wasn't all terrible but to release pictures and say Bethenny is lying isn't fair. She had a rich father. Money can buy you a lot but not necessary stability or happiness.

A pretty little girl grew into a lovely and talented woman -- that said, most of the pictures seem to show a sleep-deprived little girl. That's nothing for mom to be boasting about.

I don't see much of a big smile in any of the pictures. I see a forlorn child. And as many have said a few pictures does not tell the story of the whole family. I believe her. She wouldn't be the person she is if her childhood was so wonderful. Her mother is not in her life for a reason and her father could care less about her. That does not make for a wonderful childhood. Everyone puts on the show for the rest of the family and the neighbors. Her mother should just stop and get herself some help. Some people do not realize how their bad behavior affects their children, Betheny is one example.

It seems to me that Bethenny likes to play the victim. Someone is always against her or out to get her. She loves the drama, plays the drama but refuses to admit her part in the drama. I liked her when RHONY first started but it became clear that she has a serious case of "poor me". It makes for a much better story of how she got to where she is now-because she never had anything or any help from anyone as she grew up. Blah!

I think Popeater is biased! Popeater only writes flattering articles about Teresa Giudice, who is a perjurer and a tax fraud. How do those pictures prove that Bethenny had a happy childhood? She doesn't look very happy in those pictures. I believe Bethenny's side of the story but I think she should move on. I don't think she should talk about her mother in the media or on her show. She should let sleeping dogs lie.

I am with you Princess683, what about it Popeater? Go after Teresa Giudice with her fake fake lifestyle and disrespect of our court system and then maybe just maybe we will respect what you have to say
Bethenny is entitled to her feelings regarding her childhood just as we all are. How many parents feel they are giving their children the best of everything when their summers are spent in a theme park and the only conversations they have with their parents is while standing in line for an hour? How many times have you been to the park and taken a call on your cell phone while interrupting your child telling you something that they feel is important? Bethenny's parents didn't give themselves to her, that's what she's talking about.

Most people dont understand unless they were raised the same way.
Theres such a thing as emotional abuse, it leaves one to not trust anyone for the rest of their lives. It makes the person think most everyone hates them, or their out to get them. If a persons own parents dont love them, very much, then why would anyone else ever care for them. It leaves a person alone in life.
Some people have children, then still, only think of their selves. Back a few decades ago, people minded their own business, when it came to other peoples children.
So the neglect, and abuse went on, until the child couldnt take any more, then moved away.
We still smile, it dont mean we are happy, we just try to fit in. And get through the rest of our lives.
I believe Bethenny.

Well if her mother is writing to Radar On Line re: her daughter,
what a wonderful childhood she had....It seems to me her mother
has yet to apologize to her daughter without going to the press... I too was raised with a alcholic mother who never remember anything of what happened....It took years of pain...
I did finally forgive her before her death... but she never really understood the damaged she caused.....
So Mother of Bethenny, get some help then validate your dauther!
It may finally bring some healing between you both....
