Neil Patrick Harris Wants Kids to Have a 'Normal Childhood'
Neil Patrick Harris and his partner, David Burtka, showed no signs of new parent stress Saturday as they took their pups out for a stroll in Studio City, California. Just days after welcoming home their twins, Gideon Scott and Harper Grace, both gentleman looked more in love than ever.
"Neil and David are going to make sure their kids have a normal childhood," a friend of the couple's tells me. "As parents, they are more worried about the impact Neil's fame and wealth will have on their kids than being gay parents."
Neil, who acted for years as a child before he became famous as 'Doogie Howser, MD,' isn't the only child star who feels they missed out on a normal childhood. Christina Ricci and Michael Jackson have both spoken out about the huge cost of their unusual lives, something Neil and David are determined their twins will not experience.
"The last thing in the world David or Neil want is for the twins to go into showbiz at an early age. Just because daddy was a huge child TV star doesn't mean the couple want that for their kids," said an insider, who believes Gideon and Harper will get an old-fashioned upbringing. "That means strict bedtime, regular school and playtime and lots and lots of love."
The 'How I Met Your Mother' star announced the "Babies!!" on Twitter on Friday and is already cracking jokes about the joys of fatherhood: "Youngsters," he told his followers on Saturday. "They cry a lot. I thought it was just a long bit that they were doing. I keep saying, 'Annnnd, scene!'... but nothing happens."

Hey Tori, how many adults do you know that were raised in same sex households to have this opinion? You must surely know some people that grew up this way to be sharing your "knowledge" in this field.
Oh, I'm sorry, is the answer "None"? Thought so....
Exactly!!! Recent studies have shown that Gay parents will most likely have Gay kids!! There's an epiphany!! How could the not!!
Well to each his own, I wish them luck in raising these children , I know it's a real job to do this, My wife and I had four son, and believe me it's a job. with lots of love and patients , and sleepless nights, do hope someone will be home all the day long to care for these little ones, love them with all your heart, kids bring their own rewards with them, it's an experience that no one should miss,
good luck men, I know you can do this, love each other and hang in there,

.......so where are the kids?? You get them and let someone else raise them??? Real mothers would have placed the kids in a strolleer with the bottles, diapers etc. and took their kids for a walk. I guess men do it differently!!
You will be fine....It is tough raising kids but you have the right attitude. good luck to you !! I raised 3 and now they have their own families You have all the things to look forward to !!! :-)

they already have a problem with gay parents..!!they should have thought about that before..why do this to a child!!
Between the celebrity status and parents alternative relationship, it's gonna take a lot for these children to have
a "normal" (what's that anymore?) or "old fashioned" upbringing.
I wonder how many parents of newborn twins are out walking the dogs together and making goo-goo eyes at each other while the cameras roll?
Regardless, I wish them all the best--they'll need it.

Seriously. I was wondering the same thing. How many mothers do YOU know who are out walking their dog two days after the birth of their babies??? Um, none.
They may be gay, but their typical men. They probably have a woman nanny at home caring for them while they wear the title of "parents".
Mother's are usually still recovering from the birth itself and let the dad go and walk the dog. Since there are two Dad's here.. perhaps they let one of their mothers watch the babies so they could get some fresh air.
Believe it or not even gay men have families who love them and would be excited about being grandparents and would want to help out during the crazy 2 hour feeding newborn stage.
Hey, here's an idea, bencowart, try not to be a small minded bigot.

Here's an idea, Pete, how about debating an issue on its merits instead of calling names.

I'm guessing the "H" stands for HOMOPHOBE? Get with it already. Don't even pull out the Leviticus stuff either. I'm sure you've had sex out of wedlock, jerked off, or done things in general that others may not believe to be correct. But it's none of anyone's business what you're doing, right? RIGHT. As long as these children are being cared for & loved, that's what's important. Not what type of genitals their parents have.
Do you still wish there were separate water fountains too for whites & blacks? Same idea there; bigotry. Not every person that is placed on this Earth is made for your approval. We're all different in our ways; that's what makes the world go around. I truly feel sorry for you that you haven't evolved to a place where 'liberty & justice for all' means something to you & no matter what your beliefs are that all people deserve to be allowed to live their own paths while being treated the same despite our differences... Good luck to you. (you're going to need it w/ that attitude)

Jenny, the welfare of children is something all of society has an interest in. That's why the state solemnizes marriages. What a couple, straight or gay, get up to in the bedroom may not be anyone's business, but when children are involved it's everyone's business.
I don't care how you take this, but who gives a flying f*ck about what your "god" thinks. You want a theocracy? Move to Iran.

Your the one that will have to deal with it down the line.

That's funny Pete. Anyone who thinks a man should marry a woman (or makes a joke about it)is a small minded bigot? Did your father marry your mother, or were both of your parents men?
And Donna, it was a joke. That was the whole point. Just because Pete's touchy doesn't mean it wasn't funny.
