Pregnant Celine Dion Hospitalized in Florida

Celine Dion has been admitted to a Florida hospital to prevent the premature delivery of her twin boys, the singer's rep confirmed to PEOPLE. Dion was admitted to St. Mary's Medical Center in West Palm Beach on the advice of her physicians. "[This] is the standard of care for any patient with twin pregnancy in this clinical setting," her rep added. Dion is due to deliver the twins next month and denied that she scheduled a C-section.

Dion announced earlier this year that she and her husband, Rene Angelil, were expecting. They also have a 9-year-old son, Rene Charles.

The hospitalization is a preventive measure "to ensure the patient can be in close contact with their doctors and clinical resources, leading up to their birth."

Following a miscarriage, the singer, 42, became pregnant after undergoing in-vitro fertilization a sixth time and turning to acupuncture to improve her chances at pregnancy.

Earlier this year, the singer's husband told PEOPLE they couldn't be happier. "We're ecstatic," he said. "Celine is just hoping for a healthy pregnancy. She was hoping for one baby and the news that we are having two is a double blessing."

Fooling around with Mother Nature with injections of any kind can cause problems during & after the selfish scenario of an old mother wanting a baby. Dion's been planning another pregnancy for a long time. Miscarriages should have told her something. How dare you. Obviously you know nothing. My daughter and her husband tried for seven years to have a child normally but due to internal issues with her, their only alternative was invetro. As for these idiots who think that if you can't do it normally then you shouldn't have any children, I'm a believer in God giving certain people a fabulous talent to help those trying to conceive. I wish you well Celine. As for having a child at 42 it isn't the age of the mother that is the worry it is the length of years of the eggs. they have been with women since birth and are affected by the environment of the mother. In my age group we were told to stop having kids at 38 for safety reasons.

old is the 60+ yr old women having babies. 42 is not old. better to wait than be a knocked up teen or young 20 something who cant take care of themselves let alone a baby. how about you just wish them luck and shut up.
