Brandy Reveals Why She Hasn't Had Sex in Years

On 'Dancing With the Stars,' Brandy admitted she hasn't been intimate with a man for six years -- now she tells Life & Style why.

"I haven't been with a man seriously and in love in six years. And, honestly, I tend to abstain if I'm not in a relationship," Brandy says.

Although it hasn't actually been a full six years, the singer says, "It's been a long time. We're talking years."

Brandy has tried getting back in the dating game, though. "I actually went on a blind date a couple months ago that was very interesting but nothing serious."

There was a time when Brandy had a thing for rapper Flo Rida. "I was very interested in him. I mean, how can you not be -- he's very attractive. But there was just something about us that didn't click."

Last week, Howard Stern took major issue with Brandy's 'Dancing' partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy getting a little too ... comfortable, we'll say, with the singer. "This guy is yelling at her, giving her the business about how she has to work harder," Stern said. "She's being a good sport about it, pretending like this actually matters if they're dancing the f***ing samba correctly. All of the sudden, while he's training her he starts smacking her on the ass."

"This guy is training a woman, a black woman," a perturbed Stern added. "You know when a man walks by a woman and makes a sound like she's a fine horse? He's smacking her on the ass like she's his personal property, like back in the slave days. I was astounded they were showing this on TV."

One day she'll be old, and she won't have a choice anyway. And I guarantee you, she'll consider what she's up to now and say to herself, "What on earth was wrong with me?!" Just like Mary Tyler Moore describing how she was the only costar of Elvis Presley to never sleep with him.

Brandy needs to see a psychiatrist.

i dont understand what u are talk9ng about as with "what she is up to now".brandy went through a divorce, everyone is not strong enough to go through that and jump back into bed with somebody right away. but if u are trying to tell her what the right and best way to do things, im hoping u tell her to fifnd the Lord if she haven't, ask him to send her what and who she needs, date, get married and raise the family in the Lord, and not just go around sleeping with everybody just because some one can.

You are the one who needs to see a psychiatrist. Brandy is on the right track. She hasn't been in a serious relationship in a long time. Why have sex with someone you aren't serious about?? As far as Howard Stern is concerned, I didn't know he could be astounded about anything.

I agree with Kathryn. Brandy is a decent young woman who doesn't have to sleep around to feel good about herself. Why do people always think that something is "wrong" with a person who abstains from sex? I think something is very right about her. She's a very attractive woman who could have sex very easily, if she wanted to. She has set high standards for herself and there is absolutely nothing wrong with that. More young women (and men) should live to those standards.

I'm having great difficulty believing Howard Stern was offended. That man will say anything to keep his foul mouthed, no talent self in the news. Know something? I agree with Brandy. You all forget that HIV is still on the rampage not to mention other STD's. I say good for her for not wanting sex until she's in a steady relationship. I did it for 4 years while raising my daughter alone and I'm NOT butt ugly...far from it. When the right man came along I was glad I waited.

Brandy on the other hand, I applaud her for not sleeping around - in a world where having a meaning, intimate relationship is lost to alot of people.
